stripped shock stud
« on: May 19, 2009, 07:48:02 PM »
Any ideas on repairing a stripped shock stud? I can get a stock acorn nut to grip with out a grab bar on it but the end threads are gone. I considered cutting it off, drilling it out and putting a good grade bolt in from the back, possibly threaded or tig welded from the back side. Any other ideas?
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

Would rethreading the end of the bolt to a size smaller work?
