Thanks for the compliments. Im going to have to find a better way to hang them though. I wont be at willow springs, bike is nowhere close to finished. I actually am feeling very overwhelmed with the amount of work i have yet to do to this bike. Mounting the seat, upholstery, rewiring everything, which battery to get, ordering tail lights blinkers grips dampers, what color to paint it ect ect....

I did order some rims and spokes. They should be here in a week. Got a good deal on them thanks to chris and despite his bad experience on our forum he has been super helpful to me.

ordered some parts today, Grips, billet blinkers, damper and fork mount. Still havent decided on what brake light i want to run.

I went with 2.5 because the 3.5 is pretty big and I'm not sure would fit.

The 2.15 is a WM3 which is what I have on the back (WM2 on front). I have a 120/18 tire on the back and there is maybe enough room to go to a 130 before it rubs the brake stay rod.

Its pretty easy to shim out the brake stay rod and fit bigger wheels, 3.5 will fit easily.....

Wasn't impling it wouldn't fit RR, just pointing out that clearance will be an issue, and that appropriate changes will be needed. A 3.5 will definitely need offset sprockets.

Rims came in today with ss spokes. SO pretty. Dont think im going to lace them up yet as i dont have cash to drop 3-4 bills on tires mounted and balanced. I also got a steering damper from mikesxs. Ill start fabing up some mounts for that.

Also had a friend drop off a bike he wants me to help restore. I guess ill start a scooter/small cc club.

are those 40 spoke, where did they come from? are you using you stock hubs

I love those rings, I was asking a local shop to look around and see what he could find alond those same lines.

Tires? I have no clue, my default would be some metzler lasertec. Nice basic tire i guess. I also was considering going with something with a vintage look like the metzler block tires or the old fire stones. Not sure though if i want to slap some vintage looking/ working tires on my lightweight hopped up 550. Would look cool but defeat the performance mods im doing.

Rims are 40 spoke excels going to be laced to stock hubs. If you want it done right go to bucanan. I did not feel like monking around to fin a rim and then see if it fit the hub and then get spokes. F that! You tell them what you want and they make it happen. Oh.. and then you pay them

The Firestones are cool, but if you are going to ride hard...with hard turns, i would have looked for something else

I had one of those tyres on the rear of a CB450 a while back and in the wet it was just plain dangerous, not much better in the dry....

I know, I know, but those tires would look soooooo good on my bike but i do want to be able to ride it in the hills and twisties. Anybody have a good recommendation on tires?

Vintage racers sure seem to like Avons.

+1 on the Avons (but pricey). The Bridgestone BT45's, and Dunlop GT501's also come recommended by the vintage race crowd.
