Tring to get the bike to start I have had a few problems. Fuel was leaking from the lines so i chased those down and fixed them. Then my #2 bowl is not sealing so its leaking from the top. I need to drop it and see if the float is set right. I tried to start it and the battery died. THen it would not charge! Freaking $150 battery i messed with it for a bit today and it started to charge. once it was full enough i slapped it in, opened a tappet cover to check for oil and tried to start it. It wont rev up and is running rough but that could be the carbs causing that problem. Im just glad it turned over and didnt make a clunk.

Sounds like it isn't firing on all cylinders ... Do you have a Dyna ignition by chance?

First start mate, no filters or anything.... Not all Dyna's are bad either...

It was firing on all four. I felt the pipes after and they were all hot. Ill try again when i get new float bowl gaskets. Oh #$%*!

as i am typing this i remembered the DYNA is still on test! Im going to go fix that and try round 2. Stay tuned....Be right back.

You would not believe the note these pipes give off. I cant wait to open it up a bit.

So now that it runs. Should i get it on the street and start breaking it in or do a carb sync. I think i answered my own question thinking about it. Ill sync the carbs next unless anybody objects.

I dont hear a ticking noise. Might just be the video. Hey Brian what size are the bolts that hold the filter together? I lost mine and need to go get some.

Damn that bike just gets better and better!

But do yourself a favor next time and open the garage door before you run the bike. These old machines don't need to run for long in a closed space to give you a mean headache.

I vote for a little more break in before a carb sync...too much idling for a carb sync. Plus, you bench synched them, yea? They're probably good to go considering the motor's fresh, and most things should be equal on all cylinders.

I have a roof top house fan that i run with the door open. Moves a lot of air. Sometimes i crack my garage door half way but i never leave it open. To much good stuff in there and i dont like to advertise.

Bolts are SS 6mm button head Allen's ffj. Can't remember the length, but 15mm should work OK.

What are you guys doing about the breather tube on top of the motor? Leave it open and just put a filter on it? Or does it need a catch can?

Good job, I dig the pipes too.

I don't like the filter idea on the end of that breather. The filter will eventually plug. What about a small trick catch bottle mounted horizontally under the seat out of sight. Use something with a large enough cap you can run the breather in and a similar sized vent hose out. Then stuff steel wool in the bottle.

I used a Power Brake booster check valve on mine
Get them at any parts store.
