Topic: Oil Pump Upgrades - any tips out there?

New to this...  anyways... what do you all know about making upgrades to the oil pump on a CB 550?  I'm currently putting together a beefed up 550 / 605 big bore racer...gunna have lots done to it thanks to a lot of help from this forum.  I'm planning on running it with an oil cooler.  I know there are some that say don't bother with the oil cooler but nevertheless I'm going with it.  The information I'm searching for is, is there a way to beef up the stock oil pump... or maybe do a oil pump swap from another model??  With the increase in distance the oil has to travel I just wanna make sure that the pump has enough push to do the job right.  Maybe the stock pump will be fine??  All inputs welcome.

If there are pump options for this engine I've not seen them. The original will do the job, but be sure it's in good shape. Hondas serviceable limit in this case is way out there.  New pumps nor parts are available, but they probably come up on e-bay.

There's an upgrade for the 400f using a modified 750 pump rotor - that might be adaptable to the 550.
