I read the FAQ on bench syncing carbs, and decided to do mine since I have the carbs off for cleaning... but I cannot for the life of me locate the sync screws on my '77 750k (k8) carbs!

My Clymer manual has an awesome (sarcasm) exploded diagram of the carbs shich does not list any of the part names! That's real neat and helpful! (Who wrote those things? And why are the drawings so terrible???)

Can someone please post a photo detailing the sync screws for these carbs, or direct me to somewhere online that would have such a photo?

I love this website and all the people who help out everyone else... thanks for being here, ladies and gentlemen!

You'll never find them BWAHAHAHA!!!

I think they're located on the cast manifold that connects the carbs to the head.   At least they are on my bike ;)

Those are the vacuum port screws.  I think he's asking about the screws that actually adjust the slide height.  I've never worked on K8 carbs, though, so I can't say for sure where they are on that bike.

Thanks for the info, guys! You have no idea how frustrating it is to have the books/manuals and not be able to get the info you need. Or maybe you do ha ha
Ps- the clymer manual barely ever shows anything specific to the k7s... Bummer!

Why don't you use the Honda shop manual that shows the correct items for the bike you have?

Download the factory manual for the k8/f3 here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?5ttzdg9yyuz

The procedures are basically identical for the 77.  There is a download info section on this site (I believe in the FAQ section)  You might even find the 77 factory manual although it won't be much different from the 78.

Thanks for asking the question........I am just about ready to start on a '77 F and have only done the earlier models in the past.  I think this board has everything you need to know for a stock bike......and most of what you need to know to build a custom..........If you are a copy-cat!

OK! I downloaded the K7 AND K8 service manuals, and there doesn't seem to be info about a needle that is adjustable by using different clip settings? (I have read about doing this in various carb tuning FAQs and tutorials, but it might just be for K0-K6 carbs?) If not, is this the giant needle attached to the carb #2's float bowl? I can take it apart and look at it to see if it can be adjusted, but I prefer not to take something apart unless I know what it does and why I'm taking it apart  ;)

See fig 7-8 Pg 255.

Item #3 is the needle that has different clip positons on the earlier PD carbs.

The EPA was making Honda reduce the adjustability of carbs  as time went on.  If yours doesn't have multiple clip positions, you either use all stock inlet and exhaust  components, find needles from a 77 PD carb, or shim the needle clip to draw the needle up and richen the midrange.

Your call.
