Think he was dreaming?
« on: June 07, 2009, 03:19:15 PM »
So, I'm at the Americade rally and see a few SOHC Honda's. One was a SWEET little 350 parked next to a sweet little 175 twin. Nice couple riding them, too (SHE had the 350 and he was riding the 175... Go Girl!). I saw a nice 550F, but a side cover was missing and then I saw it again as it was being trailered away. I saw three 750's. One was a wannabe cruiser with longer forks (and that's all). One was a custom cruiser - done  nicely, but not to my tastes. THEN I came across the last one.
1975 CB750k.
Very nice looking bike.
Very clean.
King/Queen seat.
Tall back rest.
For sale for $12,000.

I would have taken a picture but my regular camera was back at the hotel and my cell phone didn't quite have enough power in it's flash. Admittedly it WAS a very clean bike, but I don't know that I would have paid anywhere NEAR that much for it.

I would guess yes unless it had something very very special about it....celebrity owner or something.  A pure original stock 74 with 497 miles on it was expected to sell for 15k but only sold for 11,200 to a German museum(+2.5k ship) I only have my frame off resto insurance valued @ 11.5k and it is showroom +. The earlier models in original condition will slowly raise the price until you get to the sandcast which will jump way way up. A Vic World resto sandcast starts @ 29.5K.  SO YES....he is dreaming!

Damn, I new I should have kept that king & queen seat on my 750!
