My First Build 77' CB750K
« on: June 10, 2009, 02:04:20 PM »
Well I have been working on cars for years and saw my business partner building an sr500 in our shop and caught the cafe racer bug so here goes my first attempt at building a 77 cb750k..i bought the bike here in LA for 600 bucks in pretty bad shape but about 95% complete and im starting this thread right after I got finished tearing the bike down.   First step im doing is stripping the frame down to bare metal then im going to clear the bare frame after ive removed all the tabs I dont need.   wish me luck

Fantastic job on this bike, well done.
I have a fully restored 750 K7, bought it last year in the UK, for me the 750 K7 was the best looking 750 Honda did (just my opinion) - good look with the restoration job man,

pics of my custom oil tank hidden under the tank, sr500 oil filler cap modded on, backbone removed and replaced...two qt capacity compared to the stock 3 qt but how cool will it be to have the first and only cb750 i know about with nothing in the triangle but air...no battery no oil tank no nada. everyones gonna think its a 550...anyways......still gotta mount the tiny lithium ion battery and electronics under the seat ...enjoy

Very cleaver.. I like the out of the box thinking on this one. The only question I have is the cap for the oil tank.. I would assume you are doing a custom tank for this? I am sure that wont clear a standard gas tank.. Other wise VERY nice work so far.. I need you here to help me bring life to some ideas I have since I have no welding chops what so ever..  ;D

GL.. Keep em coming..

Welcome, and thanks for taking the time to post with pics!

Looking foreard to see how this build goes.....neat to see custom cues being put to work here!

Any ideas on the motor?
