I'm wanting to replace the front wheel on my cb750 with one that is the same size as the rear. I was going to try to lace a rear hoop to a front hub, but someone said that the angles would be wrong as the front hub is so much smaller than the rear. That made wonder if I could just go to a drum hub and lace that to the rear hoop? I've never attempted to frankenstein a wheel together so any help here would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure this has been done, I just can't locate it.

Depends on how much money you want to spend. FIrst off yes the angles will be different but not by much. Biggest problem is the length of the spoke.

Tell a place like Buchanans what you want to do and they'll supply you. Correctly drilled rim, proper length spokes.

I'll sell you some nipple washers - they're domed washers that you put under your nipples, and you drill your spoke holes a little larger that the nipples (or sue smaller nipples, like 2.50 instead of 2.81).  The washers support the nipples and let them adjust to the correct angles.

I had 400 of 'em specially made in the UK for just this reason; I have a bunch of aluminium rims to lace to various hubs, and this seemed to be the simplest solution.
