Clutch not working with lever!!!
« on: June 17, 2009, 12:04:27 PM »
I have a cb/cl 360 and when I pull the lever it won't let the wheel turn.  I have the side cover off my spare engine now and I was going to change out the clutch basket but I can't get the basket out there is a part coming off the gear that blocks the basket from coming out.  Any help?????

Thanks

Changed out the clutch discs and pressure plates, put it all back together and still the same.  When I pull the lever in it just acts like I'm not pulling it at all.  Any help

Its a 74 cl360

Thanks

I dunno but I'm betting theres not trick or tip.....

You might get the mods to move it to "Other Bikes" for a better response....

So, are you looking at all the moving bits of your clutch to see if things are actuating when you pull the clutch lever?
No.

If the bike as not run for a while the plates may be stuck.  Make sure it is neutral and pull in the clutch lever and use the kickstarter.  If the engine turns over then the plates are stuck together.  Try a few move times and it may loosen up.

There is a cam on the left side that rotates and pushes a rod through the engine to seperate the clutch plates. It takes up slack backwards, meaning you turn it out to close the gap.( the screw is captive so instead of backing out, it rides inward and the 'nut' stays put on the inside of the housing.) I'd be checking that before tearing into the clutch!

It's easy to mess it up since it works backwards of logical thinking!
