So my woes started earlier yesterday and I finally got all of the wiring problems sorted out (I think).
http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=53539.0Thanks for everyone's help on that.
My new problem is now the bike won't start. It turns over like it is going to start, I hear firing out of what I believe is the cylinder 1 (I think). Then nothing. I pulled the plugs - plugs 1 and 4 were covered in crap and looked like they had been for some time. 2 and 3 didn't look bad. I know that the carbs need to be sync'ed - the previous owner of the bike said that he rebuilt the carbs, but I am not so sure. When it did run 2 days ago, It wouldn't idle correctly, smelled of fuel and would die if I pulled it to WOT. If I accelerated smoothly, everything was fine but I couldn't go faster than about 40 - I know the bike is slow, but I only weight 140 lbs. I was hoping for 60 at some point
I verfied that all of the plugs wires are delievering to the plugs themselves (took a good plug, contected it to the wire, placed it on the motor and turned it over a couple of times.
At this point, I am thinking that there is something wroning with the carbs - I haven't touched them since I got the bike, but the gas small concerns me. I have a sync kit and pods as well as the stock airbox (the debate on which to use can start below). Any suggestions on anything I am missing before I pull the carb stack and start a rebuild?
Thanks in advance.
