Hesitation on 73 cb500
« on: July 03, 2009, 12:27:52 PM »
Hey all, need some help here. The bike sat for a couple of weeks while I was out of town, when I got back the battery was too weak to start the bike, threw it on the charger overnight and took her out for a ride the next day. Now I am noticing a slight hesitation when I am accelerating, particularly in second and third around 3500-4000rpm. Any thoughts on what I should be looking for? This is the longest the bike has sat since I got her back on the road. Thanks!

Dried fuel deposits can change the fuel flow in the jets and emulsion tubes.  Sometimes, simply a good long ride will have the fuel flow clean itself up, as fuel is also a solvent.

You could also try some BG44K to clean up the fuel supply system a bit faster.
