Scott, how about doing an entry in the Interesting Roads and Destinations thread on Jerome and 89A?  Unless you want to keep it a secret. ;)
Shoot, the secret has been out for years! >:( :) The pic was taken from a point that had to be hiked several miles into, like Fossil Creek, which has unfortunately become too well known.

I like the road you take west of Flagstaff  on the Ash Fork (?) exit.

Talk about the views, and it's got the twisties like crazy.

Saw this today will fill in more info later..
I think it's been like this around eighty years... Houses and a restaurant all around it....wierd.
Built in 1912, closed for the war in 1914....... Never to reopen..
The concrete was wheeled up on ramps, but they used no rebar.. So it was deemed unsafe...meanwhile it still stands..

A wealthy guy bought the north island and used the airstrip to fly young boys to the island for a "camp" it was a kiddie porn ring. He escaped in his plane was was found in Arizona. They think he hid out in Mexico.

yep, basically what I have been told...plus that the "camp" doubled as a resort who's clientel was rich and famous and power brokers.  The creepy part is that North Fox Island is now owned by State of Michigan and there is no laws or rules against going there...but the only way to get there is by small landing craft as the island is surrounded for miles by shallow waters.  The resort/camp had made a landing strip which can still be seen on Google Earth, but any view of the resort buildings has been electronically distorted.  Apparently any human that has been there since the case was closed, has not reported anything...a large Island in Lake Michigan with extremely little or no human contact...
If it works good, it looks good...

I am back now.. Could have taken at least 20 pics or more of the no paint buildings.
The house looked pretty good,  guess it was just the paint.
Greg check out Molson Washington.. There's some very nice buildings, few people still live there.. About a mile from Canada border.
Spent at least half hour, at this old garage.  Probably. Going back to buy a Schwinn..

I always thought I'd like to find a place like that for next to nothing and move in.  It's tough being out in the middle of nowhere, but not as bad as before digital entertainment.

If you liked the trucks.... The guy had some Honda 305 scrambles and parts, not for sale. I did not see them,  but he had a 71 Trumph Bonneville there with original paint..
Black truck was a runner, needed the front fenders put back on.

There is a bike shop in the back of this place, I know the guy..
We bought a tool and cutter grinder, and milling machine and other goodies out of there a few years back..
Lots of bikes on the inland ferry getting there..

Yep, you got the posting thing down. Welcome to the forum.

Where are you ferrying to and from?

I  only rode on the car on deck ferries a couple times.  I practically lived on the Columbia and the Tustamena for a whole winter.

It's on the Columbia River, a dammed section called Arrow Lake.. One ride is about 25 minutes, the other is shorter.
One ferry north,  and one south of Nakusp BC......the North one took us up to Revelstoke..which is on Hwy 1. The TransCanada Hwy.
