Cam & Rockers
« on: July 10, 2009, 12:41:08 PM »
Hi,

I am looking for a camshaft and rocker arms for my 1972 CL 350 Twin.

I had to rebuild the top end of the engine and used a head from a 1968 model. I had serious problems trying to adjust the valves after I reassembled
the head.

After taking it apart I discovered that, though the timing marks line up correctly, the valves don't seem to be fully closed at TDC.

The timing didn't jump, I checked this when I took the cam cover off. The dealer tells me the camshaft, cam sprocket, and rocker arms are not
compatible with those off the '68 bike. Valves and cam bearings are compatible.

I have a spare sprocket, buy I will need the camshaft and rocker arms. I noticed my 72 cam has bigger lobes than the earlier model. I don't know if this
is what is throwing things off, but this seems likely.

Thanks for looking.

Rick
