550 start switch assembly?
« on: July 11, 2009, 05:56:45 PM »
Ok did a search but no luck.  Im looking for a start stop switch for my 75 550f and was wondering will a start stop switch from a 74 fit my bike?   I found one cheap but want to know before buying it. also does anyone know where I can get a throttle tube and cables for my bike.

If you are planing on switching the internal parts from one control to the other, then it should work out.  If you are planning to switch the entire control pod, you should know that the starter switch works differently between the two models, and there will be wiring issues.

You question was rather vague and I nearly didn't answer it at all because of that.

Check out the differences in the wiring diagram of each bike.

Better look again.  If you really have an F model, those bar controls have a very different wire layout from the early K models.

Honda shop manual is my reference.
