Dude, how did you ride out to the country with out plates? Very nice work so far. How did she do? Looks like it would be a fun ride. Can you get a closeup of the tail light mount? Yea I woll take a pic of the bracket its nothing special.  And as for not having plates I got them today.  And the country road is like half a mile from my house so no worries about cops.   But yea been riding it ever since and I love it.  Going to pick up some pod filters tomorrow and hopefully a new clutch since mine slips sometimes.

I did not see before that you had no filters on that thing.. lol That is the same thing I did, I still don't have plates (mainly because Wisconsin has no provision for lost titles) thanks wisconsin.. So I ride around the block now and again...lol

Very nice sound. Looks like you're using a stock 550F header but what is the muffler?

im using the stock header and I had an extra piece of exhuast tubing laying around the garage I used to make it a little longer so it would go past my feet.   Going to buy some stainless steel here soon and build a custom header and pipe.

Please post your process with the custom header when you make it.  I really want some 4-4 drags on my 650c, but no one makes them...I'm figuring the only route I have is to either chop and mod the stock ones I have, or build my own from scratch.

yea thats me and my niece's art work.  and hopefully someday she will be riding with me on the bike.   She loves to sit on the tank and pretend.   But yea bike is going good. just been trying to pay bills so I can have some money to throw at it.  I will post some updates soon. been working on my other 550f frame I got laying around.

Well I haven't been posting much on this build but will be getting back to her. I got her running good side covers on and built a cafe seat which the girlfriend covered for me. but am not going to be building it again from frame up using a frame I got with no Vin. so keep your eyes out for the rebuild. basically modifying the frame and transferring everything over to the new frame.  that way I don't have a bike down and I can't ride.

well I'll say this. This has been one of the most entertaining threads I've read yet. Been watching your progress for months now. Thought I'd take the time to tell you nice work. I'll be setting up shop in my living room this fall for my cb00f cafe project. clip on's, rearsets, exhaust, cafe seat, headlight brakets, will all be added/modified. already got most of the parts, and have a list I've written up over abut 8 months on the planning of what I wanna do, and in what order, and what I need. I'll be sure to post many pics for the curious.
There's nothing better than gettin done with one of these vintage hondas, and takin 'em down the road. Wish my town was full of 'em. Take care

I love building these bikes.  Got my list going too but am building it to what the girlfriend wants since she will be riding it more then me when its done and I find my 750 project. She likes the clean look of all the electrical under the rear seat so I will be hiding everything under their. She wants clips ons and rearsets too so will be fabing up soon. Going to also try my hands at putting a gsxr750 ftont end on the bike with spoked or mag wheels since she wants to keep that vintage look but with modern styleing.  Ill post pics of the stripped frame when I get home tonight. Should be a fun build and be a cool build since we won't have a bike down that we can't ride.  Going to use a bcr tank and seat with a custome baterybox and electrical box under the seat. 

Also anyone got sugestions on some clip on's I don't want some cheap crap I've sene on ebay. But am also thinking I might just use the stock clip ons fromt eh gxsr forks. And also use the stock elextrical on the bars from it as well.

Stock gsxr ones are good.

Depends on the year for good clip-ons. Some won't fit after modding them for the Honda necks. Goofy taper at the top of the USD forks.

Depending on the year I have some yana shiki clip-ons for gsxr's... let me know.

All in all the stock bars and switches should look sweet.

Well got the frame stripped last night to bare metal and also cut off things I didn't need.  and got everything ready so I can make my battery box and relocate the battery.   now im just trying to measure everything for the forks and get those orderd soon. prety much only spent an hour before going to bike night at the local shop.   and man does my bike turn heads.  well here are a few pics.  more to come today.
