Topic: A question about a non sohc bike

My neighbor has a 1986 Honda Shadow 500 and I thought maybe you guys could help. His bike starts fine when it cold, but if he takes it for a run, 10 or 15 miles, and then lets it sit more than 10 minutes before restarting it, it won't start. Then he has to let it cool completely. Any thoughts on this?

Sounds like an Ign. or a fuel related issue to me.

Possible problems whit  coil`s or  ignitions and   condensater (kondensatorer)

ignition coil
exciter coil
ignition switch
kill button
of cource to rule out the worst, do a compression check...just for #$%*s and giggles
also check air intake passages... saw a bike once with similar caracter...had a shop rag covering air intake
