just about any aftermarket parts place will have leather bags that you can throw over the bike. You won't find anything specifically made for our old bikes, though, unless you scour ebay and Craig's List and the like. Even then, I wouldn't bid on 30 year old leather. I prefer to find new.

I bought from www.jafrum.com.  The prices seem reasonable.  I have not installed them yet.  My intent was to install them with the crossing leather under the seat.  I'm now thinking I need as much height as possible especially since I'm going back to HM341s (from a MAC 4-1... which is kind of lower slung).  So... I'll probably install them over the top of the seat.

I think this is the one I bought: http://www.jafrum.com/Motorcycle-Luggage/Leather-Saddlebags/SD4005

03 KLR650 - Doesn't do anything very well but.. well.. does everything.

Do you have stock exhaust Wrenchman?. These nylon bags work great from Tractor Supply, are roomy and easy to mount if you have a low slung exhaust but the best part only cost $17.99.---------Eric

There is a metal ring or loop down on the bottom front that works out great for a zip tie to attach to a frame down tube to keep them from flopping in the wind. Can't remember but they may have another size also.
