Camshaft position for a 75 CB500t

I have a 75 CB500t and took the covers/guides for the camshafts off. Unfortunately the timing is off now and I don't know how to align or position the camshafts anymore. I know this is a sohc4 forum, but there is barely anything out there for dohc hondas. Since you know so much about hondas, I figured that somebody out there might have run in the same problem what I have right now. I have a clymer handbook that is not very helpfull on this subject. It only shows exhaust side. If I do the same to the intake side, then I hit the valves with the piston at TDC. The the motor was running before I took it appart.

Please help me. You are my only hope  :)

Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Seems like the camshaft from a CB350t is different to a CB500t. I have a lug on the camshaft facing up that needs to be aligned with the mark at the bearing. The lug is between the cam and sprocket. I have aligned them like it says it in the clymer handbook. The problem is that the intake valve on LT hits the piston with this setup. The mark on the bearing is always on the right side. the lug on the exhaust side is right as well. Intake camshaft lug is on the left side. So it is very hard for me to turn it to the right position. I have not taken the camshafts out. Is there a different mark on the intake camshaft I haven't seen yet?

There should be a thin mark on the cam to line up exactly with the mark on the bearing NOT the big casting lug
