More likely the mounting bracket is the ground.  Run a wire from a mounting bolt to the green harness.
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

I got a lucas style tailight off ebay that appeared to be a two wire... One wire was black and one red... sure looked like it. Turns out the body was the ground and the black was + running light and the red was + brake. Not sure if your running into something like this but maybe it helps. :)

Thats the right answer

(1) make up a wire from a mounting bolt to the green wire under the seat

(2) connect the two wire to the green and yellow and the brown so that the dim filament goeas to the brown and the bright one to the green yellow
