Dave Cook's sweet CB550 *lots of pics*
« on: August 21, 2009, 08:45:21 AM »
Dave Cook is a local bike builder here in Milwaukee.  Every one of his bikes bike is outside the box, but this one brings a whole new meaning to "outside the box."  It's a sideways CB550 head, on a BMW case, with a Seca shaft drive.   :o 8)  Pics are not the greatest because it was getting dark, but you can see how much work and design went into it.

a quick check revealed that this 550 powered custom has won him the AMD world championship

a first ever for an American and guess that's it's only one of the few non V-twin to ever win it

nice source of pride for us sohcer's

I am far from being a custom's fan, but hats off for the creativity.

A nice piece of innovation and execution.  I would have some concerns regarding cooling of the center cylinders as there will not be a lot of air flow in that area, then again, I could just be goosing ghosts.
