rotor stuck on cb500f 1973
« on: August 29, 2009, 01:50:22 AM »
I have redone the whole engine on my cb500f. No problem sofar. When i want to start the engine. The engine want to start but stopps imediatly. when i try to turn the crank is was stuck. my first thinking was i was a bad mechanic-man. But when is took the alternatorhouding off. There was something. I was thinking the rotor touches the stator or field coil or housing. Bur no realy marks of scraping. I tried to let the engine runnning without the rotor  (i just mouted the generator housing to hold the oil plug). And the engine runnes realy smooth. Whem i mount the rotor  with generator housing i can turn the crankshaft with no problem but when the rotor has done a couple of turns it begin to stuck. Has anyone have the same problem i have and how have you fixed it?Sorry for my bad english . I also have tried with diconnected wires of  the stator and field coil. But no results

found the solution myself. Mounted the alternator housing with a few extra gaskets and it runs realy smooth now.
