I'm in the process of figuring out how I'm going to turn my shrapnel bike into a cafe racer. Fiberglass seems like the best way to make a tank and rear cowl (read bum stop seat.) Is there any reason not to put a battery and other electronics under the fiberglass? I don't know jack pancakes about fiberglass, but I'm starting here.

You'll want some airflow over your rectifier and regulator, moreso the rectifier.  Other than that, you'll be ok.
