GL 1000 front wheel axle stuck..

I've got the rotors off for drilling and what to replace the bearings while I'm at it but I can't get the axle to slide out of the hub, the axle nut is off but nothing wants to give.  Any of you GL 1000 guys know something that I don't?

is the speedo housing off, only other things are the bearings and spacer, could be seized on the bearings....have you attempted removal with force or didn't want to till you got opinions
