yeah,sorta like that,nice patina,Anyone out there have or used cycle X's 4-1 header?Curious,because I didnt order my Carpy pipe yet and noticed he raised the price,AND,took the whole Yosh replica off the website,now its old school 4-1 header or something like that.So,cycle x is cheaper and if they are both comperable,I really dont see the difference.I'm cheap.But I did just total my cherokee and am getting a nice insurance check for a new vehicle.Should I splurge and buy a benjies 4-4???Tempting,very tempting.Hmmmmm.

so,I am installing my hd cylinder studs,(cleaning out holes,blowing air,chasing threads,etc)and 2 of the longer studs have the taper to them like the originals.Question is where do these "special"studs go.I looked in several threads and have not come up with anything.In the pic you can clearly see what I mean.I numbered the studs I took out but prob is most of them look like these two.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Oh yeah,more pics of my tail ideas(brainstorming)

almost there.pistons cleaned up,new rings on,hd studs in,just need check torque specs.Until I coat my tank I am taking the original tank and sidecovers and putting them away and going to do a rat cafe.

Ordered carpy's pipes today,thanks to my income tax refund.got em raw because I am not sure what finish I want.Will be putting the cylinder and head on this weekend,fingers crossed.Was thinking about the dunstall set on ebay ,but there is something about carpy's pipe the way it hugs the bike and light weight,sound and performance.(I am assuming after watching carpy video's)my buddy is getting Raw Steel pipes for his RD and says there is a high temp clear you can put on so you can leave em raw.anyone use it or know about it?

A lot of the guys on the 2 stroke forums use multiple coats of Mop and Glo on raw pipes, it works

Clear powdercoat??? May not be available in extreme high heat though....

Carpy pipes are SO SWEET! If he had them for 550, I'd order a set NOW (seriously).

Compared to 550...you 750 guys have it SO EASY....we have to MAKE stuff that works!

why yes I did.It works really well.It also comes on moist towellettes,kinda like baby wipes,cleans the entire bike,no muss no fuss.

Norman Hyde "M' bars.Awesome bars.A great compromise between clubmans and superbike bars,they fit my fairing just right,I tried stock,drag,clubmans,superbike and these are perfect,very comfy.

What's the difference between the original cylinder studs, and they you call hd studs? Were the old ones bent?

no,they were'nt.But after reading numerous post's on the subject I decided to do it because the motor was apart and most agree that with HD studs there is a better chance it wont leak.

so,I got three manuals,but my cam towers are different(manuals arent 73 specific)I know most of the torque values,but can anyone tell me the values of the bolts/nuts marked with the arrow?Almost done,adjusted my valves,Everything is going well,no broken anything yet?Other than the stud thing which was a pain in the ass,I should have it together as soon as my pipes show up:)

I got it,disregard what I asked last post.Finally ready to put it in.But first go through every electrical connection and clean up with a lil emory paper for better continuity,not looking forward to it.Wish I can just buy a new one.I am jonesing to ride.

child labor laws dont apply in my house.I'll have him rebuilding bikes by the time he's 10.Almost there,did the motor install,wiring harness,oil tank.Just waiting for my pipes from carpy,he said about two weeks.On the home stretch

thanks,the rugrat loves helping me.so I am redoing my home made cafe seat because I destroyed it dodging a deer and my rear tire ripped the taillight and plate holder off.Here are a couple of taillights I am considering,any thoughts,opinions?

Ok,so this isn't exactly a rat,but this is what it eventually will end up once I line the tank.I will have two sets of tank,sidecovers etc.One will be rough and ratty,the other will be stock and pretty.Still waiting on carpy,5 weeks and getting frustrated.

Ok,I lied.After the last post I spoke got an email from carpy and he said he sent out his personal exhaust that he just prepped for chroming for me.What a guy!Since I asked for it raw and it would be another 2-3 weeks before the pipe benders would even get to it.Even through in a t-shirt and poster for me.Check out these pipes.Friggin gorgeous!

Put on my pipes,new battery and fired it up for the first time last night.Sounds absolutely awesome.If you have been following my carpy pipes thread then you know.check the video out,sorry dont know how to attach so go to my other post.I am so happy,I am like a 4 yr old on xmas.almost there,just have to finish my front brakes and I am golden.
