'75 750F paint reproductions??
« on: September 18, 2009, 04:02:05 PM »
Does anyone know if there are sources for accurate paint for either of the 2 colors used on the first 750Fs?  This would be the Sunrise Orange and Candy Sapphire Blue.
     thanks!

Check out the FAQ section.  There is a guy listed in there that sells repro paint kits.  I know he has flake sunrise orange....and probably the blue too I would assume.

Have any of you guys reading this used their paint kits??  Are you happy with the results?

Do you have to add a clear coat afterward to protect it from gas spills??

thanks again   (or maybe tanks again )

For 150 bucks it comes with everything you need to paint your tank and side covers. Its a complete kit. This includes the clear coat. You definitely have to clear coat it.   See below this is from the vintagehondapaint.com's FAQ:

QUESTION: WHAT DOES THE KIT CONTAIN EXACTLY ?
ANSWER: YOU GET PRIMER, BASE COAT, CANDY, CLEAR, GUN CLEANER, MIXING CUPS, STIR STICKS, TACK CLOTH, PAINT STRAINERS, COMPLETE STEP BY STEP DIRECTIONS .

I haven't personally used the kit, but plan to very soon. Some folks on here have and with good results. Do a search on the forum or look at the website he has examples of  completed paint jobs.
