Got this in trade with the remains o' the Rover.
Can't start the thing..... the guy told me the carb just needed t' be cleaned.
(also, me might be havin been trying t' start it in gear...not sure, never owned a bike)

400 bucks OBO! Will deliver.

....bill o' sale, cause he lost the title.

Four hundred dollars... worth it for a non running non titled bike?   If it's the 750 twin it's mine, that motor would make a great engine for a bobber or chopper. Otherwise, ???

I've been thinking about that engine since I got bitten by the twin bug a month or so ago, good luck.

It's mine now. First order of business is to make it run, therefore the battery is on the charger. (It's a new battery)

What to do after that? Paint, tires, maybe chopperize it?

You could always weld some legs onto it and turn it into a sofa.

the first thing I thought was to ditch the seat.  It's going to have to stay for now, as it is in great shape and comfy.  That dirt tracker posted above, yeah, I like that.

I walk into the guys garage and see this bike, it is somewhat familiar. He tells me he got it in a trade with a Rover, and I knew where I had seen it before. I know a guy who is big into Rovers, and he had this bike in his barn.  (so it's kind of a barn bike)  He had gotten it from his father in law, and it sat in his barn shop for several years, until he traded it off.  Now i have it.

The guy I got it from put a new battery and fresh gas in, but it wouldn't start. When I got to it the battery was dead. I tried to charge it but my charger is apparently dead, also. So, in went the battery from my cb750. the starter spins but doesn't engage the motor.  The kickstarter does, and after awhile I gt it to run.  It only ran on one cylinder, and the cyl that doesn't has a badly leaking carb.

Work to b done...
clean/rebuild carbs
brakes (front is poor, rear doesn't work at all)
new petcock
tires

That's to start with, then this winter or sooner I'll tear it down and do something cool with it.

I've been having trouble finding a KZ forum, any forum, but I'd like to find one like SOHC4. :D

Try kzrider.com.  They were loads helpful with our kz650.  I usually got faster responses on this forum about our kz problems, but they know their #$%*.  I think there's just less people on their forum, is all.

Plus, they love to fight amongst themselves about oil and politics.  Just like us.  Good times.

There's also the 'dotheton' forum, those guys work on everything and there's a good archive to search for answers on.
