where does this wire go?
« on: September 26, 2009, 08:40:26 AM »
I took my battery box out, sandblasted it and painted it. When I put it back together I have a green wire that I don't know where it goes. I took a pic before taking it apart, but I can't see this wire in it.
I do still have the green wire that runs to the brake light.
Anyone know where this might go? It runs into the same group of wires as the starter magnetic switch (solenoid?)
 My bike is a 1973 CB750
Thanks

I could be wrong, but I think that wire goes to the turn signal buzzer.  Hardly anybody has them on their bikes anymore.  I've actually never seen one.  Feel free to correct, I don't have my wiring diagram handy.

That is the extra ground wire used only on 3 leg blinker relays.  Older hondas used two leg blinker relays.

THANKS!!

Skonnie Boy is the turn signal buzzer the small box on the back of batery box marked "signal stat"? if so, mine still has it. May have to get rid of it if my signals start buzzing. (at least i'll know how to make it stop now)

Turn signal buzzer is inside the headlight bucket and looks like a small can with a perforated side.

The item on the back of the battery box is the turn signal relay.

Check the main website, wiring diagrams are available for your bike there.

There you have, I stand corrected.  Mystic's prolly forgotten more than I'll know about these bikes.

My turn signal buzzer is not inside the headlight bucket.( 75 K5) But  jammed up next the fork ears and next to the headlight, with a rubber hosing, with the holed metal plate for sound

I've never seen the buzzer in the headlight bucket (among the mass of wires, didnt know it'd even fit), but rather I always find them perched on top of the fork cap.

Ah yes that's right, the stock mounting point is a little tab that sticks out on the inside of the fork ear.  I've only encountered one "in the wild" and it had been stuffed up inside the headlight.  Still have that one floating around in my parts collection but don't even know if it works.
