I had Clubmans on my Enfield Bullet. After I had them on for a while I really liked them. Initially though I had problems with pain in my wrists.

A solution that wasn't available when I had that bike 3 years ago is adjustable bars. Omar's Dirt track sells them:http://www.omarsdtr.com/bars4.html

This is my Enfield with the clubman bars. I didn't have rearsets, which was a mixed deal. I'm tall, middle aged, not particular thin or flexible. So, longer rides could get uncomfortable. However, the tall part came in handy with that as I could put my feet on the passenger pegs to position myself better.

Overall they were a worthwhile addition, but I think that if I had held on to the bike I would have tried drag bars to see if they could split the difference between the stock bar and the clubman style.

seems odd that when so many people don't want the full drop of clubmans that SOMEONE isn't fabricating a club man with a 1.5-2 inch drop instead of the full 3.5-5

(hint hint, anyone fabricate bars out there?)

I have some clubmans "upside down" on the drag bike.   They would hit the tank if instaled right.

Anyone try ridding clubmans two-up?

I ride mostly by myself but dont want to exclude possible camping trips with a girl..

I am almost 6'5" so in theory that might make them a little more comfortable for the long haul as I will still be fairly upright (right now with the stock bars I have to move back on the seat)

I would just try them but I know whatever I install will stay there for some time.. I guess the "safe" route is euro bars,  but from sitting on a friends bike I was surprised to see how comfortable they were! and the feeling of holding the bike by the ears was great.. not sure when I will get a chance to ask and test ride though

I'm about an inch shorter than you, the clubman bars (or Ace bars, same thing) are much more comfortable above about 45 mph than a standard bar. I didn't ever ride with a passenger with mine, but I can't see why they would cause a problem.

The high rise Tarozzi clip ons can be installed very close to the same height as the drag bars and are infinitely adjustable.  Bring an allen wrench on the road and adjust them on the fly if you get board with your current riding position.

I took my clubmans off after riding two-up. Not only did it put a lot of extra weight on my wrists, but my wife didn't like how it pushed my butt back and made her lean further forward. Now I'm back to the drag bars. Also, I put a ding in my tank with the clubmans. >:( Watch out for that.

I don't think that I did anything special but I don't have any clearance issues with the clubmans. If you rotate them up slightly until they don't smack the tank they still give you the aggressive stance with out the fear of denting the tank or crushing a finger.

Just saying...

I dinged my tank too, but it was mostly because I was stupid. I work in downtown Chicago, I was using a cable lock on my bike and pulled away from the curb with the lock still attached and did a slow speed dump. Ripped off the speedo cable and put a dent in the tank where the bar hit it.

You reminded me though that the bars limited the steering lock. The first time I pulled out from the curb I almost pulled into oncoming traffic because I couldn't turn the bar as far as I could before with the regular bars.

Whoever wrote that copy clearly doesn't know what a clubman bar is. That looks more like a superbike bend to me.

Those are just Euro bars, not Clubmans. You can use them with a rise or a drop; just flip them over.

Could it be a sales tactic? Clubman being associated with "cafe"?

Not trying to get into that argument, just an observation.

those bars are sweeeeeet, some dude ordered that exact set for his cb400 and i threw them on at my shop, major handling difference than stock, and no tank bump.

I've seen a Virago set up like that, looks good, might do it to mine. I used to run upside down "Z" bars on my GT380, not quite as much of a drop (or "pull back" the way those are set) as clubmans, but about the same "rise" I think, so they put me 4 or 5 inches forward of where drag bars would have put me, gave me more  room to move over the seat. Wish I could find another set, I loved them. My TX750 had drag bars on when I got it, they were OK but it had a long seat so I could slide back on it. I'm 6'4" and used to do the elbow on the knee too, but now, the superbike bars are a bit more comfortable, the CB750 has enough power I'm not trying to squeeze more by reducing wind resistance, and I'm not as "racy" as I used to be.. ;D  but I still tuck in every once in a while.. ;)

The benefit of the clubman bars on my Enfield vs the standard bars, which were a bit taller than a 'superbike' bend, but lower than a stock CB bar was the extra forward lean.

The stock bars had me sitting bold upright (I'm about 6-4) and above 40-45 mph you really were gripping the bars to fight the wind. With the clubmans that issue disappeared completely.
