Bike looks so damn good with the Lesters, by the way...  One aftermarket part that was really superior to what Honda provided imo

Thanks, I had two parts bikes and drove 30 miles to my friends bike shop looking for info on spokes or rims. His wife does the parts and she said I needed some Lesters. I went home and searched for Lester mags on craigslist and there was this bike. A few miles from that shop. The bike's owner cloned the shop owners bike because he couldn't buy it. So here is a town of maybe 50 people and two K0 750's with Lester mags.
I actually bought a no title K0 for the rims so I could make this one a spoke rim bike. Buuuut that's not happening any time soon.

I'm calling it a resto mod and done. As a contrast to the red Sandcast survivor. I procured a 69 engine with a non stamped replacement case but the 836 is just too much fun. I don't see me changing it any time soon. I'm ready to enjoy it for a couple years.

Thanks, the red one came from a friends estate. I had to bid on it to get it. When he was alive he let me look at it to see how to rebuilt the green one. I think he wanted me to have it. After I got it running I rode it to show the family.

Photo_ucket is pretty arrogant to watermark the photos you upload to it. They have no rights to the photos to stamp them like that!  The original poster/photographer should be able download them and they not be watermarked, but I bet you cannot.

Congrats on the nomination!

Bump for old time's sake. I've been scrolling through my old threads just to see how dumb I was. Much smarter now and humble too.
I'm going to undo things I did once to my first K0 and clean up a more recent find.

  Thanks Maui, that's really cool.
That pic is of a bike that was a clone of one the PO tried but couldn't buy.
The one he couldn't buy is the second cb750 sold at our local shop, the guy that assembled it still owns it and he also assembled the first one sold here, my sandcast.
Judging by the numbers, the bike pictured is probably the third one sold here since the three are each 4,000 numbers apart.

I got the green one out and rode it today. I just can't stay out of the throttle, 3,500 rpm and up pulls like crazy, 836 kit, ported and KH/F cam It still wants to foul #1 at part throttle cruise. I'm thinking I need to check the metering rod number and clip location. It doesn't flood when parked with the fuel turned on now, that's a bonus. The front forks still feel stiff, I took part of the spring shim out, I may try another set of springs and no shim.
A carb balance will be in order since I did use new 4-1 cables when I assembled it and I suspect they have broken in  a bit and may need tuned.

Today I realized that the Green one has K1 forks. Edit: I see correct forks on it in pics with the black tank, it was me that took them off! They're either on a K2 in storage or went to England on a K1.
Now I'm realizing how I have evolved as a bike owner. When I found this, I just wanted the Lester mags and anything that ran, and the mags were a shortcut because all the wheels I had were rusty. My brother said it was the easier of the two choices I had to get running. That turned out to not be true and I swapped the engine from the other bike during the process of making something run so we could ride together again.
The PO had built this as a clone of his favorite bike and used a k4 and a k1 for parts, back then it was my hot rod bike but now is slowly returning to it's original form.
