Got engine, frame, wheels.
Nothing else.
No electrics, no controls, no nothing else.
Want to rig up ignition and see if I can make it run and the FSM would be handy for this.

I'll be happy to stick it up on manual archve server

For that matter, if any of you guys have manuals you would like archived for general sharing I can stick them on the server.

A little more keen on finding manual.
Engine turns over nicely after MMO treatment and I've got 160lb on both sides after adjusting valves.
Bikes front rotor had no discernable wear so probably low miles and notorious leaky water pump seal.
Story is that it sat behind a gas station for almost 20 years after the employee it belonged who couldn't make it run disappeared.
Gas station got sold and it went out on the curb.
Friends kids dragged it home, he robbed more parts and it sat
behind his house for a year.

He wanted rid of it and the forks look like they fit my CB650 which needs 'pit free' fprks to keep the oil in so I threw it in the back of the van this AM.

If you would liek to scan and add to my small on line manual archives I'm sure a mess of folks would appreciate it.

omma.edebris.com

should grow to size of bama.edebris.com (old ham radio manuals) eventually

if you want to upload

ftp bama.edebris.com and then cd to upload directory
use anything or nothing for username and anything or nothing for password, but email address would be nice for password.

If you want your name or any notes you've made attached to the archived copy, include a small text file telling me what you want included as well as the additional stuff

Found a cx500 'clymer' but FSM would still be handy. If you need, it should be up on omma.edebris.com soon. Ordered a used haynes 78-84 Honda twins from used book seller for $11. Hopefully it covers the 78 cb400a.

I kinda like the CX500.
On mine the stock pipes where pretty worn out, so just for the hell of it, I put my stock pipes off the Heritage I used to own on the CX. These pipes have a little "cut out" where a small pipe hooks in. about 1inch diam.
I left them open, they face under the bike. Man this thing has a nice little rumble. I was suprised. It has just a little vibration to it at stop signs, kinda like a sporty. Sounds pretty good. Also a pretty fast bike for it's size, again suprised. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/hondachop_project/my_photos
click on album, "other bikes..."
