I love that seat and tail section - did you make it yourself or did you have it made?  I am in indy and would be interested in having one for my 350f.

the tail section was made by a friend of mine in phoenix az where i used to live.  i was real lucky because hes an insanely talented welder... its some random mx tank i found in an old 60s ford van out west...long story.  cut and welded to some 16 guage steel.  im learning to weld, but i wouldnt trust anything i make just yet.

yes its a stock tank just stripped.  the paint was sun faded from sitting in the az sun for 30 years and needed to go... i had it polished up pretty well, but sat neglected for 6 months and started a little surface rust just from handling.  might buff it out and clear it?  no dents in the tank what so ever.  some 14 year old kid in mesa sold this to me for 200 dollars totally complete.

thanks for the heads up.. as more happens... in about a month, ill post more.

started in on the wiring tonight, no i dont know what im doing...but you gotta learn one way or another, right? dig in.  kinda confused about what to do with the black wire and the brown/white wire for my kill switch options. can i wire them together and run a switch where the red and black wires meet?  i know its vague, but as i stated at first, i have no clue what im doing...only guessing at what common sense i can make of it.  anyone have any idea about 10 amp "kill"switches? are switches really labeled by hw much current they handle?  my goal is to have the bike be a push button bike with a kill switch.  no key needed. obviously everything will be hidden as well as i can.  and yes, im going to make the mess of wires in the belly pan look much better.  i just threw it all in their for the pics.  as you can tell by the head lamp, ive cut out a lot of what used to be in their... head light, brake light tail light and starter are all the electronics i want.

shortround.  id be hyped on something a bit more simple.  email is leeaaronbender@hotmail.com   id be stoked on any help i can find/get.  i just threw this harness back in there to see if i can get this bike to even fire up. ive had it for almost two years and done nothing with it while i was building another bike (a friend wired it for me..) so now its winter and im trying to do this on pennies for whats left.

can i use a one piece reg/rec out of an older 750 do you know?

book says this...

but the "tangs"? the metal parts that dont allow the floats to go any lower... make it so the float bowls need to be pressed together to get the 4 float bowl screws together... does anyone see anything wrong im simply over looking??? should i need to press down to get the bowl to match up with the carb body?

the wiring diagram im using now says this....

but i cut the wires coming from the alt/gen and soldered in 9 more inches of wire to get the huge clip hidden under the seat... does it matter if ive crossed any of the yellow wires in doing so???

any help is much much much appreciated.  me idiot.

alright... didnt get to much time in the garage tonight, but i did have a fully charge and new battery that came with the pile of parts when i bought the 750...  being charged now and not really know what im getting into with either of the bikes, since i hadnt seen either run or even heard from the po's that they did run... i hooked the battery up to each bike and bridged the starter relay and what do you know... ive done alright so far and the starters turn over.  sound coming from anywhere is a good thing for me right now.  new level of hope has risen.  ha, silly i know, but im hyped...my buddy clicked a photo as we were testing it... woohoo,,, this is progress of some sort!

honestly, its cold as balls... im in indy and weve had sub zero weather recently, so the bike came into my bedroom and has been my headboard for my bed the last week or so.  i worked a little more on the electronics and got them more or less finished minus the starter button.  went to three automotive shops for a clean lookin 1/4" button.. all they had were ones for who knows what that were 2 inches long and plastic... no thanks. sooooo i stared at this for over an hour and a half....how to attach the seat?  ive came down to drilling holes and looping zip ties because ive been stuck with this problem for over a month now... anyone please give me some ideas... i have access to a welder but that means back outside and i really dont want to do that just yet...if you look closely there are two bolts welded to the top part of the two part seat pan... thats because the top part is going to be upholstered and needs to attach to the seat pan base... id rather refrain from doing the same thing thru the bottom of the seat pan, because then ive got nuts and bolts showing thru the bottom part of whats now a clean line... any help is much appreciated!!!!! hope everyone elses projects are coming along...thanks, lee.
