I love that muffler. That has got to be the biggest "Form over Function" compromise that I have seen in many years, it made me cringe for Honda's engineers.................  :P
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I'm in.

I've been starting to look around to replace my Ducati with something a bit more sensible (easier to pack work stuff in). I've been leaning towards the Conny 14. This just might bring me back to Honda if they stay with the standard VFR proceedure of making Hard side bags an option. Either way - I want to ride one.   ;D

On the fence myself. I like the idea of a v-4(who doesn't) but the muffler is fugly from certain angles and yet ok from others. All that plastic is a bit of a turn off as well. Hopefully they might offer a "naked" version.

We have another contender for "Biggest Ugliest Motorcycle Muffler of the 21st Century", a crowded field these days.

that muffler looks like a ran over trash can. sometimes you need to wonder if they make them so ugly to force you to buy aftermarket pipes :-\
other than that, I like it. looks sleek without a ton of graphics and honda logos all over it.

It reminds me of the Japanese cartoon characters everywhere, except it looks like it sat out in the sun on my car's dashboard, and melted a little.  ;D

That's a muffler?!

SOHC4
Single Over Head Cam 4

Looks like two cams to me.  So, it really needs a different web site.

At first I liked it.  Then I imagined myself in the riding position on it.  Now my back and wrists hurt. (I imagine.)

I do like the 1200 bit.

Muffler is... distinctive.

I bet VFRworld is going insane by now.

There is an '07 RWB VFR at my local dealer, however, they won't come down on the price.

From 800 to 1200? Hmmm, strange. I wouldn't be surprised if Honda goes the Cadillac route with most of the time just 2 cilinders 'at work' and no.3 and 4. for when extra power is needed.

Personally I can't get excited anymore with new combustionbased engines. It's high time to pull the plug of this outdated stinking fossil with far to many parts.

I'll wait for the electric motorcycle and, yes, it is coming!

Well, once again Honda has built a "rider's motorcycle."

IMHO, it had better be because that's the only viewing position from which this stylistic abomination isn't unfortunate. There isn't a single line on this design that works with any other. The only piece that is even remotely graceful is possibly the rear wheel, and that looks sort of like a Marchisini.  This vehicle looks to be the product of an unfortunate coupling between a contemporary German BMW designer and a proud Honda Rune rider.

So much development money. So many possibilities for a successful design. So little grace.

BMW owners will love it and maybe that's what the bean-counters at Honda are counting on.

And it's BMWs that made me hate the single-side swing-arm setup (love their bikes otherwise.)  Yeah, this bike looks like all-around fail.

Being a BMW owner I was going to object to Ricky's summation until I went back and had another look, and well, he's right. As far as electric motorcycle ownership goes though, I'd rather go to jail....................  :P

it's a dual single over head cam four whereas we are just a single ohc

like the motor, not so hot on the muffler, hate the sport bike part of it.

would like to stick that motor in my magna....much nicer than the vrf800 one.

Looks like a way to beat the boy-racers at their own game, a muffler big enough to park my partners' scooter in!
I'm betting these will be like the CB1000, a unique novelty that looks nice and shiny sitting outside the garage of wannbe's .......but I could be wrong. ;D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Bag mounts, huh?!! I'd thought about a 175hp Beemer as a nice road bike but................

Kinda hard to get used to the paddle shifters in my Acura RL. I forget to shift it since it's too smooth. Think I'd stick with a manual. After all it's a performance road bike isn't it.

And don't forget, it's a F model. You K boys stay away  :o

To each his/her own. Personally if I see yet another harley-knock-off-cruiser I thiknk I'm going to puke. I'm so bored with those and their lack of technology it's pathetic. If I want an old bike, I'd buy an old bike (ah, wait, I did.  ;D ).

Not everyone will lke they styling. Personally, I do. We'll see how it goes.

LOL...and I feel almost exactly the reverse.  To me, all road-racers look identical to me.  9 times out of 10, unless I can find a name plate on them I have no idea which is which.
