Hi! I got my gasket sets and oil seal kits from Disaster Dave at http://www.disastermotors.com/collections/all?page=3 he doesn't have any gaskets set listed so I just gave him a call and had to leave a message. You can email him from the site too. He's a good guy.
The K0 is coming along and working on the second CA95 motor. I bought a parts bike for $200 and it's way better than the bike I was working on so I will do up the parts bike first.

My honda guy said his ultrasound cleaner tank will darken the carb bodies if he uses it hot. When he did my sandcast carbs he let it cool first.

Great thread I certainly learned a lot. I bought a cb750 K0 new in April of 1970. Wish I still had it. I recently bough a 70 K0 restoration project. I'm anxious to start. Working on my buddies 1956 Ford Crown Victoria. We just finished painting clearing aND buffing. Came out nice. PROBABLY WILL START my K0 project IN April. I go to Vancouver 3 or 4 times a year on business. Aerospace stuff. I'd like to see your K0 then. If that's OK with you.

My K0 is running it's a conglomeration of parts with a 10290xx frame. The motor is a 75 but it'll have a 70 10240xx motor as I have just gotten the cases.

This site is Fantastic. Thank you so much and thanks to the other guys. I'm anxious to start.

Hi! You can have a look anytime but I live in Victoria, a ferry ride from Vancouver. The restoration is moving at glacial speed but going to get an estimate on the paint work this week. And then save for a new set of exhaust piped. The bike runs nicely now. I had a sandcast motor in but decided to go back to it's original motor. Cliff.

I go to Vancouver and then take the ferry to Nanaimo and drive to Parksville. The island is a beautiful place. I'll be there in April or May.

Slowly slowly getting it done. Bought a lift which makes life easier. Changed out the carbs for a more stock looking set, the others were quite dark from soaking them too long in Simple Green. I have taken a stock candy blue green fork ear down to a local supplier to order paint and getting things prepped for paint. A friend has done award winning paint jobs on cars and he's excited to help with my paint. Unfortunately I didn't used him to paint the frame and the paint is very brittle so there will be some touch ups there later. Plus a few touch ups on the motor too.Cliff.

I have been puttering with my K0 but have decided to put a push on getting it done. I have sealed the gas tank with POR-15, prepping for paint, have the blue-green and silver base coat purchased, put a new battery in the bike and cleaned up a few things. Just as I got going again I have a retina tear repaired (ouch) last Monday and need to recover so I can see properly again. It's hard to see with a gas bubble in my eye, never minds that it's been pretty much swollen shut since Monday. Funny what a change in attitude having a good battery in the bike does. It's now got a heart! So, once I can see properly again I will continue and post here. This must be the longest build thread in board history.

Messed about with the wiring to make sure everything works. I will have to tighten up some of the connectors. I couldn't get the taillight working and it was driving me crazy. There's a brown wire female connector in what would be inside the headlight but no male connector. Oldmanhonda has an excellent wiring diagram http://oldmanhonda.com/MC/wiring750K1.html Turns out the brown wire connector in the headlight is a spare. The taillight wire goes to the ignition switch. A quick check of the connector showed the brown wire needed to pushed in more into the connector. Fixed. Shows I will have to go over every connection in the harness.

More paint prep. Primed some of the bodywork, several coats, will sand today. The tank needs some body on a couple of small dents so my painter will look after that.
Haven't done much of this before so going slow and learning something new, even at my age. I did some painting on my C95 but these parts need more prep.

Priming coming along, nearly there I think. Repairing a couple of cracks on the oil tank cover has proved challenging. A friend recommended a plastic welding kit which seems to be working. I opened them up with a dremel first. The welding product is sandable when set up. The cover only needs to come off for oil changes. I will have to remember to be extra careful taking it off.

No, a friend will be doing the paint in his garage. 7 years? Got a little sidetracked with a Benly that needs love too. One bike at a time is best I think. Plus, just plain lost interest for awhile as the bike seem to be fighting back. It should have been a parts bike but I couldn't do that. Getting excited as it gets closer. Cliff.

Stev-o, the back of the cover was strengthened by a previous owner but the cover still flexes a bit. Of course I have to stop seeing how much it flexes

Johnie, thanks for the encouragement. The lower tab on the left side cover was cracked and weak so I surrounded it with JB Weld and it's much better. I don't know if it will hold if it's been broken off. if it's surrouned up the tab that may give it the strength it needs.
These old covers are quite brittle. I have a pair of reproductions ones I bought off a forum member but my painter wanted to use the original ones.

You may want to paint the new repop side covers too, so if/when the originals fail, you will have perfectly matched ones to pop on.

I always use new covers when it's time to paint

Hardly, but I bet the painter would charge that much extra for a couple side covers.

If going with stock Candy Blue color, these would become valuable, if you wanted to sell them in the future...

Blue green is perfect. That is a really a stunning color! Have your painter do the gold stripes rather than the stickers. My painter is so fussy and does a nice job on my tins.

Painting the stripes would be nice but I think I will be using the stickers. My painter has done award winning work but I don't think he can paint the stripes in. The stickers are the same as I have used on my K1 and they look good. Yes, the blue green is a great colour. I haven't seen it in many years on a bike in these parts. The K0 will look good framed by my 2 red K1's.

My painter says my part of the prep is done, yahoo. He'll do one more coat of primer and block sand it. He will also fix the dent in the gas tank and paint it. I have just touched up the frame where I managed to chip the paint several times. I had another guy paint it and the paint seems real brittle. Not a cheap job to end up having to touch it up in several places. I can't believe how long I have been working on this bike, it's fought back many times. Getting closer though.
