My dad on my grandfather's motorcycle
« on: October 29, 2009, 06:22:42 PM »
This picture was taken in 1949.  My dad is on my grandfather's motorcycle.  Any idea on what bike it is?

Henderson was the first name that I thought of, too.

That's a great picture!

Man, don't get ME started, I haven't a clue. I just DON"T THINK it's an Indian and that's about as close as I can come myself. :-\

Pretty cool though. You ought to post it in the Memories thread. ;)

Took a 4 second look, it is a 17-25 Harley.

looks like it is probably 17 -19 by the width of the forks.. got a beatup set of them sitting in my shop..

Frank, when I saw YOU were online, I figured you'd have a pretty good guess on it. :)

Definitely looks to be a 1919 or so model Harley.

Great photo Art! I wish I could help with the bike ID, but I have not a clue. That photo sure does make 1949 seem like a long time ago though. I got to go put some oil in my joints, I'm starting to seize up.

Its likely a dark olive drab color, but ity could have been repainted as it is around 30 yrs ol in the pic.

If its a repaint it could be as early a 16, but not a 15..
