REALLY digging the motor color.  If I end up doing my frame black instead of gunmetal, I think I might do something like that.

Looks GREAT bro.

Been a while, been too cold and nasty to get out there and do any work... Nice day today, so I got my motor back in the frame. Started sorting out all the odds and ends to get her back together. Really looking forward to riding this spring...

So today was a good day for working in the back yard... Got a lot done... Still a ways to go. Here is a pic of the progress thus far... Also got the wiring harness and exhaust back on. One more good day(and some jets and cleaned carbs) and she'll be good to go!!!

So... been waiting on money to finish this project up. Got what I need to get her rideable. Installed CBR1000RR front master cylinder. Works good(too good, maybe), only takes a little bit of pressure to lock that front wheel... Got to be careful. Repainted the tank and tail the other day, not happy with it, but it will work. Next week is my week off, so I am going to mount my tires, jet & mount my carbs, finish all the "little" stuff, and ride!!! Taillight/license plate holder didnt work well with my tail, trying to use the tail light, cut up the license plate holder and made an axle mount... Not pretty or what I want, but functional. Just got to figure out a way to mount the tail light in a way that isnt hideous. The rest of the bike looks pretty good, cant screw it up with a simple tail light mount. Any ideas??? Right now, I have a flat 1in wide piece of aluminum formed to mount on the inside of the frame rails.but my tail sits lower than that. I would like to have it drop down a bit to clear the tail, but them I am fighting clearance with the tire, and I dont want it hanging 3 feet out the back either... See my dilemma??? Pics and video will be forthcoming... Keep in mind, she is by no means a show bike, and she was built in my backyard on a "measly" $1700ish budget... Blew right my my original estimate, but it is so worth it. I love this bike! Cant wait to ride again!

Also, anyone have any tips regarding jet sizes with velocity stack and open exhaust? I though about it for a while and ended up getting a set of 127.5 and 130s. I think I am going to go with the 130s first... Turn the mix screw out to 3 and go from there... Anything I am missing? Am I way off?

Probably wouldn't bother this guy much.

So, the Gorilla is no longer vanilla. I was having trouble getting the white paint to look right, gave up and painted her black. At least and handprints and smudges wont be so visible. Fabbed up a taillight mount and figgered out which wires go where. Waiting on parts to get here so I can throw her together. For some reason the electric start button doesn't seem to work. Everything else seems fine, so we'll see whats up when I get her ready to fire. I promise I will post pics once I am satisfied with her.

Kit, thats just gross.  :D

So, here are the pics as promised... Not quite done. Waiting on a few doodads and I will be riding again, well, that and  mount the tires... Not so bad for being built by a doofus in his backyard, huh??? Check last pic for proof of doofusness...

Thanks for all the info and guidance this website has offered me throughout this build. I sure hope the next one is built indoors, so I can make it even nicer! Pretty soon she'll be all done and rideable, maybe I can stop myself and post a quick video for everyone, before I head down the road!

honestly, it's just too much black on black for my taste.  I liked the white seat and tail thing you had going.
