I dropped my bike off at the shop to get it's safety inspection.  I should have it on the road by the end of next week, god willing.

Worked on my homeade side covers since I lost one last week.
Today I went to wallmart to get some stick on numbers to put on my homeade sidecovers so people would stop asking me what size it is.
I was getting weird looks when I answered with "9 inches on a good day"

Polished up my K2 after getting caught in the rain the other day.  Ugh.  The worst part isn't getting wet, it's the cleanup.

Picked up a nice rotor from goddfrey today! Really light compared to a stock rotor. He also checked out my chain and said its time to replace chain and sprockets.

I awoke my 74 Honda CB550 from a 32 year slumber.  :)
I hooked up my fuel lines and couldn't get it to start (no spark).  Pulled the points cover, no spark.  Pulled a spark plug, no spark.  Then I remembered the night I hooked up my aftermarket RH switch....yep, that one night I drank half a bottle of Jameson and put the headlight back on prematurely.  Wired up the kill switch, opened the petcock, choke on....fingers crossed....pushed the start button and...VROOOOOOM!!!  Some smoke, no leaks, and high idle with choke off, but it's alive!  Excited, just doesn't do this feeling justice.  Can't wait to start tuning....but after I finish this bottle of Jameson.  ;)

Wrenching under influance can be sometimes very productive. Like the member here who changed shock springs using zip ties to hold the spring - it worked.
I have done it many times with mixed results.

Anyway congrats, it runs now, the road to more frustration is wide open :)

Yes it is!  I just used my jameson strength last night and did it without zip ties! lol. Painted the springs and cleaned up some old koni progressives I had last night.  Rode to work today - wow what a difference!! SO much smoother.  I can't believe I didnt do that sooner.

Not yet.  I'm planning on it, but like I said, I'm lazy and slow.  I will give you step #1 right now, though.  Buy some CB500T triple clamps.

I'll let you know when I get the how-to thread put together.

Just got new tapered steering bearings from Silvers along with a new master cylinder, mine was leaking. £23 for a rebuild kit and £29 for a complete new master cylinder!
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

The flexi drive is an aircraft part, (had to keep my eyes open for something that would do the trick).  I had to get the original idle screw turned down and then I drilled and riveted it to the inner cable,  then did the same with the knurled knob which is actually a hydraulic blanking plug.  Then made a stainless bracket that bolts to the carbs.

SWEET!
Got any info on those clamps and brackets holding your carbs? Looks like a good idea.

Cleaned the carbs ... the outside parts. Lot's of gunk casted into the crevasses.

The carb supports are cut and filed from stainless steel about 1.2mm gauge.  I cut triangular shapes and drilled 2 holes in each for the carb bolts and bent the top for the  hose clamp. I have since added a rubber sleeve under hose clamps to protect the frame.  These brackets are not symetrical, you have to mess around a bit because of this.
