Not a Honda but went over to a Guys place and bought out the rest of his GT750 stash at a very good price.Picked up a good engine, carbs, pipes, seat and a couple totes of other goodies.Pickled it and put it away for now.The bad thing is now I have to shop for a good roller with a blown engine.  ::)

Nice Eric, is that an "L", or "M" engine with CV carbs? A lot of guys used to build "The perfect GT750" by installing the later engine in the earlier (J or K) chassis, giving it the much more attractive earlier styling, with the more powerful later model engine. Good pickup! Cheers, Terry. ;D
It is the later engine Terry,I believe a 1976 with the easier to work with CV carbs.Think the later ones put out just around 3 more hp claimed but are claimed to be a little better running units. The later model exhaust pipes are easier to deal with also without the leaky crossovers setup of the early ones, but I do like those black cones of the early pipes.

Rode my goldielox K6, and put a new positive battery cable on my K4.  The K6 is running much better with the 120 mains and HM300 pipes.  Sounds lovely, but the rain started falling, so I cut the ride short.

Anybody want to hear a long Saturday story condensed ? Went innocently to Harbor Freight to buy a bike lift table and a couple of front wheel chocks and a few other goodies in my Ford F250 I took out of storage at my shop because the big wood box was like 300 lbs,to big for the mini van.400.00 bucks later and with a good lead from an old guy who asked if I was buying that bike lift and said he has a large cache of vintage bikes he wants to be rid of I head to the shop but stop to socialize a bit with friends, and it turns into a mini party. Leave early though to get back and make my drop, need to put some stuff on my upper level.Wife's Christmas stuff. Been doing it for years but the ladder slips and I fall down with it on a pile of motorcycles, ow.
Get recovered from that and a racer friend of mine and my shop buddy comes screeching in my parking lot in a snowstorm.Buddy is in his truck and the racer has driven more than a mile in the snow to "deliver" this vintage CB350 that we had been talking about. He does major doughnets in the snow in my driveway, pulls in the shop.we laugh,I give him $100.00 for the bike and we go to the fire and celebrate our fun while my pal builds the new HF lift.
Throw them out,hit a watering hole on the way home  and a women who is sitting next to her Husband and I get along great. She rubs her fingers through my hair and say I look like Nick Nolte and I know its time to pay up and go home.
Get home late and walk the dogs in my country back woods and after an hour they find the back of a deer and drag it home for later fun.
Sore leg from ladder fall.dead deer, good Harbor Freight crap put together, wild women and a $100.00 original CB350 with a torn up driveway.
Anybody wanna see pics of more than my ladder fall leg and dead deer later. Bikes pretty nice  ::)

I was wondering if this story was like one of those movies shot with an "alternate" ending..... Nick ?     ;D ;)

So where are the pics of that little three-fiddy Eric? And that banged out old slapper at the bar? C'mon mate, don't leave us hanging................ ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Maybe he's still sleeping off that hangover?

Anyway, I spent the better part of the day riding the 550 and prep and painting the Lesters...

Probably going to pickup a 1975 Honda CB550, 2morrow or this weekend...................

Removed the latch on the extra gas tank for the 750.

Am doing an acetone test on the cb100 head. Need a piston and cylinder.

Pulled the cam chain rollers out of the 350 twin engine. Need cylinder jug and head.

Just looked at the 350F, waiting to paint the tins.

Rode the Harley to work. Cold as crap this morn.....25 degrees.

All good though.
If it ain't raining, I'm riding.....~~{iii}?~~prost

If it sounds like I know what I'm talking about, it's because I cut and pasted from someone else.

prepared my bike for its new parts to arrive.  I removed the rear wheel and tool off the front and rear sprockets.  I also disassembled the drum brake and gave it a good clean and slight polish as well as the rear rim.  My bike was still running the original sprockets and I am presuming the original chain.  THe sprockets actually looked decent but the chain wouldn't stay tight.

When I get the parts i'll have to replace the front and rear brakes as well as the chain and sprockets.  After all that now I think my damn floats are hung in my carbs because they keep pissing gas everytime i touch the bike now >:(

While it doesn't address the floats, the question is are you turning off your petcock when parked? This is SOP. That will keep them from pissing till you can get them fixed. Many of us run the engine a bit with the cock off to drain the bowls a little before parking.

MCRider - I do turn the petcock off, although, I did accidentally leave it on one night right before i took these parts off about three days ago.  I should run it dry to avoid this if I plan on having it sit for awhile.  One job kept turning into another and before I knew it it has been 4 months :P

Yeah it only takes a night for it to happen ...and hopefully not burn the place down.  ;)

As to the "... before I knew it..." comment, surely been there.   :D
