Went out to the shed, looked at my marooned 650 as it awaits a clutch cable.....then stole my partner's bike and went nuts on some country roads......I feel a little better now. ;D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Road it home from Vancouver after a dead battery issue yesterday.
Buddy I've known since we were 5 years old showed up and surprised me at the Vancouver swap meet, "He does not ride". Afterwards he wanted to show me his new condo he just moved to........ He "finally" has a spare room I can call my own and sleep in!

BUT he just moved in so I slept on the same short couch again for the millionth time.

A $35.00 Canadian tire charger, Pizza, beer, scotch and a couch. What more could you ask for on a Sunday in the big city with your bike ;D ;D

I've been off the bike for the winter, but now that the sun's coming out I've got to fix all the stuff I didn't do last winter.

Today I started rebuilding the forks.
Tomorrow I'll finish that and then start on the front brakes, replacing pads and cables.
After that I have two new tires, and I'm going to try put them on myself.

I also have a hop in the front at around 60mph so I'll try sort that out after the tires are on.

I blew the carbon out of the 750 on a 40 mile ride ;D This thing feels like a rocket ship compared to the 350. I should stop riding it or I'll end up not selling it and being too poor to run my bikes. I also figured out why my turn signal dash light quit working (bad connection in the bird's nest).

Finished the forks, and put on some new dust gators since the dust covers cracked when taking them off. The gators were for a 350 sitting in boxes so at least they are getting used now. Plus i didn't want to pay $30 for new dust covers.

Also mounted new headlight ears and ditched the stock ones.

Took the brakes apart and realized I bought the wrong hose, so I'm ordering a straight hose and new light switch tonight.

saving the tires for last cause I have a feeling they will be a pain in the arse.

Anticipation! Waiting and hoping my new seat for my 750 K6 shows up at my door step this week. Been adjusting and readjusting my clutch, can't seem to get it quite right to where Im comfortable with the feel of the release.

Took her out for about 15 miles, school is almost out, and she ran good. I need to change the oil and I think I'm going to put some advance in the timing, gags just a bit when leaving the lights. Wished when I had the motor out I'd checked the head bolts, minor oil showing up there, more of a reason to rebuild it this fall though.

hoodellyhoo, and I quote you - thread posted 12/08/09. My first 750... I was finally able to buy a 750. I've been wanting one for sometime, mainly because the 350 is just a bit small for longer/ faster rides. My ultimate plan is to do a stock restore. When you typed those words you sounded excited and happy about finally being able to get one of these classic bikes. Times are hard in this country right now, I know because my wife just went back to work after being without a job for 2 years. We all have to do what ever it takes to support our families and pay the bills and put food on the table, but we also need a outlet, something we enjoy and I think you enjoy rebuilding your 750. I don't know your situation, but I hope you can hold on to this bike and finish the rebuild that you started. I know it would be a nice K6 when done.
Good Luck, dhall

It's okay. I've got another one waiting in the wings that's more original. It's already got more of the original parts and is in better shape. I've told the owner that I'm interested. Now I'm just waiting to work out a deal to get the bike in exchange for helping her sell some other ones. ;)

And to stay on topic.... Today I wheeled the 750 into the front yard with a for sale sign on it.

I wonder what it looks like out in the sun...
like this

Well, it doesn't look exactly like that  :D, but it certainly does sparkle and gleam!

Got the emblems on and the tank and covers on last night.  Had a nice ride to and from work today.

This is what I started with...

This is what she looks like now....

Needless to say, it's a huge improvement and I am thrilled with how it turned out.  He did a fantastic job.  The color is just what I wanted.  The stripes are painted rather than decal (like it was before) and it looks so much nicer.

It feels so good to be on my bike again after having it sit idle in my garage with no tank for the last 6 wks waiting for the stuff to get painted.  I had my friend's Rebel to ride when the urge to ride became too great.....but it was just not the same!  I would only ride the Rebel at night because I looked like such an 'effing clown on it (I'm 6'3")  :D

i sneaked out while the wife and daughter were shopping and getting my prescription (supposed to be in bed with leg elevated) and i re-did the fiberglass work i tried on the airtech seat and mounted the taillight/tag holder so that the tag doesnt hang below the level of the seat. tried kickstarting the bike and had to get a neighbor to help me back into the house with the aid of my garden cart.

Bled the brakes and put in new fluid...notoriously PITA to bleed 750F2/3 front brakes gave me no problem. Tomorrow carbs come off for a good cleaning then it's state inspection time on Friday and I'm on the road!

- Dremeled off the rust of the front wheel and spokes, put the front wheel on.
- Cleaned up the front caliper and replaced the gasket, reinstalled and bled line.
- Started the process of getting a replacement registration, as the one I had gotten went  through the wash before I had a chance to transfer it into my name. Last was registered in 03/99. He should be able to get it and mail it down to me this friday :)

- Bike was not firing on #2, as the pipe was cold, a few days later I remove the spark plugs, a lil bit black but nothing much, I clean em off and reinstall. Won't start at all now, grrrr. I was really looking forward to using the morgan carbtune I got in the mail.

Tested the new baffles for the 750F exhaust. As expected, the auger baffle is slightly louder than the glasspack, it sounds a little meaner  while the glasspack is more mellow. The 7"  glasspack sounds a little better at idle but there is less difference at 4,000 rpm. The 12" glasspack is back ordered but still should be here this week. I am going to try two 7" glasspacks and get them all on the highway for some wide open throttle to see what I like best.
