Sooo I recently finished a K2 project and all is good. Next up on the poop deck are a couple of F models. I bought 2- F model part outs last fall so it will be a good time to sort the piles and use what I need. The orange 75 was bought from the original owner and shows 21,000 on the clock. Had a fairing etc as seen in the pics. Plan is to put it back to stock and replace the rear 16" Lester with an 18" stock rear. Think I have everything needed to do it like signals, headlight blah blah.
The yellow F is one owner removed from the original and has 8700 miles on it. Needs a side cover and somebody put an aftermarket exhaust and rear master on it both of which I have stock replacements for. Hopefully find a nice seat cover.
Both bikes have electronic ignitions and I already went through the carbs, oil and plug changes, tappets and all the tune-up stuff etc. and both ran well off the bottle before putting away for later.  Need to get some more stuff officially done in the shop before I get tempted to start buying again.  More later if you like pictures.  Eric

Was building up my rebuilt engine and after closing the cases I found a hidden, broken bolt. So had to take it apart again and lost two days on the build. Deadline is getting tight, so not ideal. Hoping to pick it up today and build again tomorrow!

Painted my kick stand. It's always been super rusty so now it's nice and clean. Didn't want to destroy the paint when putting on the spring so I used the coin method. Haven't done it before and haven't actually seen a picture on here of someone doing it. Used quarters and a dime. Worked like a charm!

Assembled my engine yesterday, but kept running into problems. Fitment issues with a few cases and the bolts that hold the cam towers down have all pulled all the threads out....one by one...spent a full day and all night (until 5:30 am) and the next day trying to get it done. Spent €1400,- on rebuilding, €700,- in parts and now it comes down to #$%*ty threads. They pulled with no effort and came out clean, top to bottom. Super gutted!!
PO has taken it apart too many times I guess. It is very worn and old according to the machine shop.

That is a weak area around the cam towers especially if its been redone multiple times. You will be happy once those holes are reinforced and done correctly.

I've been chasing down annoying oil leaks on my F2 and yesterday I pulled the cam and cam towers to replace the rubber pucks/discs underneath. Instead of using cheap aftermarket ones like those that were in it already I opted for genuine Honda rubber discs. I also checked out BrandEns leak free top end thread and used permatex hylomar sealant around those discs. It's too early to say if it's a long term fix but once i got it all together I took it out for a ride and so far so good.

Finally closed up my engine!
It was an ordeal with pulled threads and having to move it out of the shop before it was finished.
Put helicoils in all the holes for the cam towers after I pulled three and one already had a new one. Works like a charm!

I need to torque down the clutch basket, but need a tool for it. Probably sort that tomorrow.

Going in the frame tomorrow for wheel alignment and other small things. After that it's time to put it all together!
