Moved the CB750 off the work stand and put the BSA back up.  Ran out of time to put the tank back on and take it for a ride.  >:(

I paid for a set of fork legs for my Triumph to convert to Kimtabs and disc brakes.

Decided to clean up the garage today and try and get a little more work space. I wheeled out the 76 750F1 and decided it was long overdue for a start up. I'd put it aside about 18mths ago due to weeping pucks and bought a frame kit that still I haven't got around to instaling.
It's been over 12 months since it was last started. Turned the fuel on (didn't put any fresh in), waited a moment for carbs to fill, which they did to overflowing, choke on,  ignition on and all lights lit up  then hit the starter. It fired right up and idled on the choke. Cool. Must do that frame kit soon so's I can take it for a run.

Take it for a run anyway Krusty, it's only oil, it'll wash off! ;D

I've got a similar problem with garage space, or the lack thereof. I really enjoyed only having my Harley and my little red trailer in my Storage unit here in Canberra for the last couple of months, and wished my own garage was so bare. As it is, I shoehorned the Sportster into my garage on Saturday, barely avoiding scraping the paint on the tank as I parked the FJ1200 beside it.

For the last couple of hours I've been thinking about renting a storage unit nearby, and shoving all of my excess bikes and projects and parts and machine tools and other bits and pieces, so I have enough room between the bikes that I don't have to risk damaging them just because I've got way too much crap.

A couple of hundred bucks per month isn't cheap, but neither is an OEM paint job, so what price peace of mind? Hmmnn, I might ride over to my local "Storage King" and see if I can't get a deal.......... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

You and I both know exactly what will happen if you do that.

Your storage unit will be overflowing in six months and your temporary "clean" TARDIS will be full of bikes again in less than six months. We all accumulate to fill the space available - create more space and end up with more crap.

But that's a good thing.

I raffled off a 1970 Kawasaki G4TR that I restored with the support of a few mates and raised over $6,000 for beyondblue the Australian charity that provides support to people dealing with depression and anxiety.

Next 2016 raffle project will either be a Z500 or a GS1000G (both on offer as free bikes) - the 1969 CL175 I already have is going to need a lot of work so that will be a 2017 or 2018 restoration and raffle project.

Fun way of working on all sorts of bikes and honing my skills whilst supporting local charities.

Had a learning lesson with the bike. Yes there is a difference when it comes to foot pegs on these bikes and not they don't all fit the same way.

(Hopefully) fixed a cam cover leak. Took off my chromed one and put this polished one on. Had most of it taken apart anyways while chasing an electrical problem. Love my frame kit! Haha

I put on new headlight ears and got rid of that heavy stock bracket that holds the headlight and blinkers. Now the bike is all LED lit.  :)

Last night I finally gave up sorting out a mysterious wiring issue that was preventing the tail and instrument lights from illuminating in ignition switch position #2. So I manually bridged two circuits, and it works fine now. I even added a little note to the improvised wire that explains that I'm a jackass cheater and then buttoned up all of the wiring.

So today I took the bike for a ride. It's got some (mostly minor) fuel starvation issue, so I need to do some Googling later today to learn how to properly position the fuel line and fuel filter. It could be a new petcock problem instead - the tank is questionable.

But the bike rides great! I dig the suspension, and my back appreciates it too. I hope this bike lives forever.

Took this bad boy that I picked up from Rice-O-Rama and wrapped it up in foam and put away for the winter while the build begins.... Can't risk messing this thing up , hard to find in this condition.....

Never as much as you intend.  ;)

Cleaned the seriously nasty grab rail for a couple hours.
Installed that and the 2 fenders.
Installed the rear turn signals.

Baked some Christmas cookies, errr.... calipers  without fear of retribution by a crazed female  :o

It's beginning to seriously look like a bike rather than the pile of spare parts it started out as

Today's progress:

Painted the caliper
Completed the wiring
Installed the headlight
Installed the rear brake hose to the master
Installed the Corbin Gunfighter
Installed the tank with new rubber
Discovered the iridium spark plugs I bought a while back are 14mm!! @#$%^&
Installed the mirrors
Installed the frame piece with Gordon's kit

Next list:

Spark plugs
Petcock and fuel line
Order new intake boots
Valve cover and related emission hoses
Fit seat side trim
Find a tail light mount
Build and install rear caliper
Install chain
Exhaust - Original, Delkevic or Motogp??
Carbs, gas, oil, battery

While I like the Corbin seat I'm afraid it will leave a little to be desired as far as fitment goes. This is the prototype that they made and which they donated to me.

Not bad for a pile of spare take off parts  ;D
