Wolfe those are looking great.

If you did do a hidden stud in the cap to screw on a dipstick what would be the chance of the dipstick unthreading and falling off?

yeah like that newday the thin metal cap formed onto the dipstick tightly unlike these caps im working on. I would have to find something to keep it attached to the dipstick so throwing some ideas out there maybe a bolt that the cap would screw on would be nice.

You could then use a small ny-lock nut to hold the dipstick tight;wouldn't back off.

Pretty much got the dash how I want it. Not sure if it's going to be legal as I may have to have an odometer for roadworthy.
Bit more cleanup of edges and I'm thinking wrinkle finish black paint
i blame Terry

Those stick up a lot. Those might burn a leg on hot summer days.

Today I fired up my K5 to take it out and warm it up to drop the oil for it's winter's nap. 42° this afternoon's high so I had to bundle up for a 15 mile ride at 50 mph, so the wind chill was @11°. I had to stop and pull up my neck wrap at the turn around as my mouth and nose were very cold. Winter is settling in here, only going to be in the 30s next week.......
