I'm a little pissed  >:( Just noticed the directional arrow on the new tire I just had mounted for my CB750 is opposite of the actual rotation. Has anybody had this happen to them. Did you have it remounted correctly or were you temped to just to put it back on the bike and run it like it is. Alright tire experts could it be unsafe to do this? Would the bike handle and ride different. If there could be some safety issues I will definitely have it remounted.
hate to say it but i vote for flipping it around. The plies of the tire wrap around and overlap at a point on the tire. The overlap is done with an angle cut. The rotation is determined so that the major force, either braking on the front or drive on the rear is acting in such a way on that overlap that it is not trying to peel the seam apart. So its a safety issue. Sorry.

Truth, you could probably run it like that and no one would ever know but you. But...

If the tyre is directional then it should be run the right way, i would be going back to the tyre shop and having it redone. Directional tyres are designed to work one way, wet weather performance will be effected and it could even be unstable at speed and track poorly.

....and depending on the make and model of the tire, it my actually pull water in to the tire instead of shedding it, which would be ok if you going to try one of those high speed water crossing

Same thing happened to me when I had my front tire replaced a couple of years ago.  Took it back and they flipped it around without argument.  When i had them do the rear last summer, I took a sharpie and marked the direction of spin with an arrow on the wheel in a couple of places so they wouldn't screw up again.

I think you'd definitely want to have it flipped the right way so water sheds correctly.

Just got done replacing my headlight.   The screw holding the trim ring on was rusted in place.  Ended up having to drill it out.  Got a stainless steal screw in there now.  Went to the auto parts store to get the headlight.  Only had two choices in 7" headlights, both halogen Sylvania's. Bought the cheaper one.  Mounted it up right there at the store.  No listing of power consumption on the box.

MJ

Should be fine MJ I'm running the higher output silverstar with my dyna ignition and 3ohm coils and it only dims a little bit at low idle with the brake lights on.  Been running it that way for a year now with no charging issue.

Rode my KAW to bike night at Quaker Steak and Lube.  My sweet friend Tara rode along, making my bike look even sexier.  All the way there something didnt seem right.  Like she was leaning against me which is odd because we have been riding together for weeks and shes a very stable passenger. ON the way home we decided to stop for one more beer at Neons which is a few blocks from her house.  When we left there, I had a flat on the rear.  Evidently the thing had a slow leak and was already low when we left.  I made a huge mistake by not checking the thing out thoroughly before I rolled out with a passenger.  Luckily no blow out at speed and no injuries.

Went to the shed to start tearing my CB750 apart, checked the temp gauge inside the shed. It read 114, decided that was just alittle too warm, locked the shed up and went in the house with AC running and started slamming brewskies instead.

You need to invest in a rolling A/C unit. You can vent it out through a wall using a drier vent fitting and they work pretty well. I have two in my condo where window units wouldn't have worked. They aren't as effective as normal window units, and they can be pricey. But they do offer a lot of flexibility in positioning.

I'm assuming this rolling A/C unit requires electricity, of which, is not available in my shed.

I assume you have access to power outside your house? Just buy or make a good heavy duty extension cord and make sure that you have an outlet with at least a 15 amp breaker that doesn't have any other devices on it that draw much power.

I sanded my 4-4's and primed them for the flat black. I think I am going to have to wait to put the black paint on, because I don't own an oven or grill large enough to bake the pipes.

I hope the finish wasn't in very good shape, otherwise you ruined $900 worth of exhaust.

I got my tire remounted correctly today. Just a honest mistake at Cycle Gear. Ive bought several tires from them. Good service and decent tire prices, and only $20 to mount and balance a tire.

I rode over to Harbor Freight and bought this, $15.99 on sale. Time to see if I can bring some extra shine to my old paint.

That happened to me recently!  Ended up being the power wire (red) on my ignition switch had corroded right off.  Cleaned it up and soldered the wire back on and I was good to go!

Yeh, I hear yah, but I'm running a lot of extra lights, a CB radio and a stereo not to mention my GPS.  I've got 4 extra 1157s in my Vetter trunk and some side markers on the Vetter fairing.  I put all led lights in for the tail lights and turn signals, plus an electronic flasher.  I'd just like to know what my power consumption is so I can figure what I can have on together and still have something for charging the battery.

It wasn't in great shape. There were rust spots everywhere. Besides if I want to go back to chrome I can have it stripped and chemically treated then re-chromed.

So far, replaced the bulbs in the gauges in the K3 and the K5.
Replaced the little rubber mounts under the acorn nuts that hold the gauges too. The originals were rock hard.
Installed a gasket that was missing for one blinker on the K5.
Installed the new tank trim from David Silver on the K3 tank.  It looks awesome!

Working on assembling new hoses for the carb synchronizer. Still waiting for new the in-line valves to arrive.
Need to go buy abut 5 feet of 3/8 fuel line for external tank I'll use when I'm syncing the carbs.

Took the bike out for a quick ride today.  Bout to go and take the carbs off to clean them (got trash in the floats again), and then I will probably put a small in line filter on it for now.  At least until I can find time to get the tank cleaned better.

Yesterday I had a buddy take me to the parking lot in the worst neighborhood in Cincinnati to get my KAW.  It was there sittin on a flat.  I had the compressor filled up and I inflated the tire and rode her back to work which is where my shop is too.

I'm going to swap the rear mag from my KZ1000 project onto the 750.  I'm going to run spokes on the 1000 any way.

I stayed after work and and finalized the clutch cable adjustment on my CB360T.  I rode that all over the place last night.  Bar to bar, careful to have only one beer and a water at each stop.  People love Hondas, I met 3 other riders and one serious fabrication guy.

Today I went to Skips junk yard looking for a left side cover for the 360.   I struck out despite finding a CL360 side cover which is just different enough that I cant use it.  I did however find a stator cover that just needs some cleaning up.  The guy pulled it off for me and I gave him $20.00.
