The Mrs and I did 140 miles, 2-up on an oldwing, as part of the Gilmore Vintage "Ride 'Em, Don't Hide 'Em" pre-show group ride today.  Planning to hit the show tomorrow and see what bits I can score at the swap meet!
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Rode the dog out of it today!!  Covered about 380 miles today Gainesville GA to Augusta and back.  The old F bike performed great, with only one minor glitch right as I was getting off the interstate.  It felt like a fuel starvation issue, because I started loosing power, hit the off ramp and then all of the sudden all was good.  Oh well I'm too windbeaten, wet, and sore to really care about looking at it right now.  Maybe tomorrow...

Also had lunch with some awesome friends from the forum.  Met John Dupree for the first time today, also saw Bender01 from Bluffton, SC and I rode down with Rocker, Bluto, and Bluezboy.  I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend a Sunday!

I replaced several crappy HF bullet connectors in the headlight that were installed by the PO.
Two of them basically fell off in my hand.
Installed new, correct connectors and added a dab of solder to each.
Now my LF blinker works again!

Pulled the rear wheel and removed the tire, cleaned the surface rust that had formed inside the wheel and applied some neutralizer. So now it's prepped to have a new tube installed and to get balanced.

Took the front wheel off, had the tire swapped/balanced at MotoTireGuy in SF for $20, Score! Put on my new wheel with fresh bearings, a drilled rotor I picked up from member Cleveland, and a really nice front fender I've been saving.

All with the very necessary assistance of Domer (Danny) -- Thank you again (he did most of the work).

pulled the carbs off today and cleaned them. probably should have done a better job on the outsides but its the inside that counts. and also bench synced them. going to wait till i get an exhaust before doing a full sync on them. and also figured out why #2 was running lean, i was missing the clamp on the engine side of the boot (from carbs to engine.)

Ran wires through the clubmans, mounted controls and new throttle cables, cleaned up the bullet connectors and hit them with dielectric grease, hooked everything back up - busy day.  Still have to get my shocks mounted, but that'll be about it.

Spend about 20 minutes fishing out my keys from the gas tank.    Was just about to fill 'er up when the the keys slipped out of my hand and into the tank.
Luckily, I found a wire hanger in the parking lot and was able to fish it out after a good 20 minutes.    I could have just emptied the gas out but I'm way too cheap to waste $4.00 a gallon go juice.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

Took the rear rim from my KZ750 and the rear rim that I won't be using from my KZ1000 to Cycle Specialists in Western Hills to have the tires swapped out.  I had a flat 2 Thursdays ago with a passenger on board.  Im going to pick it up in a bit and put everything back together.

Did an unlawful thing and put a plate from my 750K5 on the 350F, went to the gas station filled it up, (gas all over the tank while riding), bad gasket. Took $10.46 to fill it up. First time I've ridden it any distance since rebuilding the carbs. Runs like a charm. Had to pull the air filter though to get it to run. Really need a set of pipes and new air filter and she'll be ready for insurance and tags.

Is there anybody out there that has a set of pipes for this 1974 CB350F1? And won't cost me an arm and leg.

Prefer original, but will take 4-2.

Just waiting for the jetting kit to arrive ffj, then off to the dyno.  After that it's street time, with still no baffels. ;) :)   In about 6 weeks in go a Megacycle cam, and a slotted cam sprocket & hardened rockers from MRieck.  Oh, and an other dyno run just to compare.

Besides the 400 does very nicely on its own attracting a crowd.  Seems even Harley guys like little red Hondas. 8)

Last night I cleaned up the rear wheel on my KZ750.  Later I rode my 360T to Bike Nite at the Comet.  I actually met at least one maybe two real live forum members.  Ready Steady Brown Bomber contacted me via sohc4.net PM and gave me the heads up about the event.  Thank you sir, it was my pleasure.  Rode back up into Clifton hit Macs and hung there abit,  I ended up riding around til dawn just enjoying the growling sound.   This morning I put the rear wheel back on my 750 but I havent gotten to test ride it yet, its raining like a b**tch here.

Yesterday I discovered that my bike has a top speed in the neighborhood of 115 mph.  I also discovered that at that speed a dragonfly strike has enough force to crack a turn-signal lens.

So I spent today tracking down and ordering a new lens.
