Looked at my bike in the garage, decided at 6 AM and it's 81 degrees outside already with the windows fogged over from the coolness of the inside of the house to just take the climate controlled Chrysler to work instead. If this weather would just cool down a bit. Warmest summer here in Nebraska in 35 years!!! I could RIDE!!!!! UGGGGGGHHHHHHH  :P

You mean like Waxoyl or Cosmoline spray?

Adjsuted the valves and test drove it.... oops.  Re-adjsuted valves, adjusted the points, set static timing, test drove it, mmmm not quite.  Adjusted carbs, reset idle, rode it around and listened to the joy.

...don't know Waxoyl or Cosmoline, I used stuff from Teroson.

Cleaned the old clamps and bought the last parts(hope so!) that I need to finish the K0.

my 72 Honda CB175 shut off after a 30 min ride.   Looked it all over no electrical at all!!
the Fuse  blew but not in the middle or where you could see it.   I just pulled it out and figured to try another fuse eventhough it looked fine and sure enough,  boom  fired right back up and off i go!!
You just never know.

Popped in a 20 amp fuse and rode her to work...still have a very bad exhaust leak; I'm going back to the copper gaskets.

After letting the 650 sit for a week and "think about what she did - overflowing the carbs for no reason", I finally decided she'd sat in the corner long enough, pulled the rack and meticulously adjusted the floats one last time. Once back together I put the bike on the center stand, turned on the gas, and fired her up!  The idle was fair, so I borrowed my Dad's laser thermometer and used the temp readings to adjust the pilot jets until the pipes were within about 10F of each other.

Once she was dialed in, took her for a 5 mile test run. Soooo nice to be back on the road again!  Going to resync the carbs tonight.

Switch over to the new & improved blade type fuses. No law says you have to run old school fuses unless its a stocker build.

Took it out for a quick run to make sure everything is still ok for the 2nd leg of the Michigan Rally.  Then tanked up and gave it a bath.  I'm mostly packed and ready to go.  140 miles to Kalamazoo to meet up for the start.

Tore down the oil pan and cleaned it and the mesh filter. Not in bad shape, but worth the effort.

Replaced the o-rings on the oil pump. Definite improvement in oil pressure and shifting. Also reduced some engine noises.

Gotcha: pinched a wire when replacing the shift/drive chain cover. Caused no end of problems when I took it for a test ride.

finished pulling the wiring out along with the air box. going to go through all the wires and re-wrap it. then pulled the rear wheel and swing arm. all the bearings seem ok, so going to power wash the swing arm and give it some paint. also discovered one spoke on the rear wheel is bent, so i guess im getting new ones. then pulled the rear shocks apart so they can be cleaned and painted.

up next is pull the front end, clean the frame and give it some paint. hopefully by the end of summer ill have it all back together and be able to ride....

Looked up NEW spokes for it, Man it's gonna cost some $$ to get them rims back to new! Probably could buy some 22" Bling rims for the SUV for the same dough for what I've come up with so far!

I ran out of gas after I did yet another valve adjustment.  I parked it on reserve and figured I'd be ok.  I was test riding it in the neighborhood when it died.  The church folks were out knocking on doors and the nice lady asked, "where's yo helmet?"  "I usually wear one ma'am, I just did a valve adjustment and with the helmet on I can't hear the engine."  "so you're just testing it out right around here?" "yes ma'am I promised my mother I'd always wear it but..."  " Well I aint yo momma but I AM a mother and don't let me see you out without it again"  "yes ma'am"  I limped it home sputtering and surging, poured a little mower gas on it and went inside and got my helmet.
