Checking the bikes for oil leaks. Forgot to clamp down the hose going into the oil cooler. Blip'd the throttle and the hose sprang off and shot oil about 5 feet up and 6 feet out.

Short story shorter, my oil pump works.

Refinished my K0 tank badges, painted them semi gloss then used some metal polish to tone the gloss down a bit. They're closer to the NOS one I have now.

All I did to the CB was disconnect the - to the battery and cover it up in anticipation of the rain but I replaced the stock handlebars on my GS850 with drag bars and removed the front fender...much better!

Well I picked up the bike from a shop that I dropped it off to have the "OUT OF PROVINCE INSPECTION" .....What a load of crap!!!
$90----cost of inspection
$50----cost to fill out the form
$85---- cost of cleaning the contacts on the horn....that was working fine when I took it in!!!
$40----which was the cost for TWO REFLECTORS FOR THE FRONT FORKS!!!

It took everything in me not to go off my f!@#*&g head....$40 for 2 reflectors.....Never will this shop See me again, but on the bright side the bike is now ready to roll....

Out of Province inspection, never heard of one of those.  NB doesn't have inspection for motorcycles because bike mechanics aren't seen as a trade like car/truck mechanics.  That being said, I wouldn't ride my bikes if they wouldn't pass any type of road inspection.

Installed progressive springs & 10 wt. fork oil (Thanks Havoc for the springs)
& some new grips....(the ballon grips sucked & were too small anyway)

Then something so piddly but made a nice difference. (its the little things that count.)

Ditched the flimsy aluminum exhaust strap

Took some .750 in. wide X .125 in. thick strap cold roll steel....bent some decent angles on the sheet metal bender.
Machined some .375 in. slots about .0625 in. deep.

Primed & painted my godawful pumpkin orange.

Much better than the aluminum strap by a long shot.

Then rode the crap out of it after the rain finally stopped.

Got my new plate today so I'm good to roll till march 2011.....and I removed the reflectors that the ripoff shop installed and discovered that they were used...the back of them covered in mud/dirt...got to love paying $40 for used reflectors.
Oh well time to get over it I guess, carma is a #$%*!!!!  Now to wait for my new cafe seat I ordered went in the mail today ;D. There is still at least 2 1/2 months of winter here yet, so lots of time to work on it!!

i pulled the tire and tube from the 750 f rim (almost new tire and tube) to get at the tube as the one on the k4 750 wont hold air anymore. eventually i'll have the energy to get the tire back on the damn rim and get it to the dealer to get it balanced.

I reconnected all of the electrics with the headlight bucket on. Then I bled some fluid into my freshly cleaned brakes. And finally I took it for another short ride today. I believe the windchill was 0 today ;D

I found out a final shaft assembly from an F2 won't work in a K3 case, no matter how much time you spent cleaning it. Swearing helps, some.

Well I've been working away from home for a couple of days, but I got home with an hour or so before dark, (it's getting dark around 9pm at the moment, it's 10.20 as I type this, and 70 degrees) so I shoved the F2 engine back in the frame and bolted it up.

All I gotta do now is fit the carbs (once I clean them out after 5 years of sitting, ignored, unloved and unridden) and the exhaust, seat, tank, sidies etc, and fire it up. I fitted some nicer chrome handle bars and noticed that the hose from the MC to the splitter has heaps of cracks in it, so I need to replace that too. I better go buy another battery in anticipation!

I'm taking my Triumph Rocket III in to the Triumph dealer in the city tomorrow, I've fitted a new Jardine "Big Boss" pipe, Power Commander III and K&N air filter, so they're gonna put it on the Dyno and tune the PCIII to suit the pipe and filter. I'm hoping to see 150-160 BHP at the rear wheel. I'll post the dyno sheet when I get back! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Well I'm a little disappointed, I had my Triumph Rocket III dynotuned today, I've installed a new Jardine "Big Boss" pipe, Power Commander III and K&N air filter, and as the standard spec is 140 BHP and 147 foot pounds of torque, I was hoping for a healthy increase today.

I'm sure then, that you can understand my disappointment, when I paid my 264 bucks and looked at the dyno sheet, only to find out that it's now producing 140 BHP and 145 footpounds of torque? I guess the "factory" spec is measured at the crank, and not the wheel. That blower kit is looking good................   ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

well, Terry the shaft drive actually has more of a parasitic loss than chain or belt drives, i dont remember the percentage but it's pretty high. so the numbers you got are pretty damn good power figures.
