Those rear sets do look good Terry, and Mick already asked the same question I was going to ask about reversing the linkage.

If you have a spare stock gear change lever, it will make a good base for an extended lever... (ask me how I know).

As for me - today I decided to wrap my pipes, now I just need to buy some wrap.

Thanks Cliff, I've done the "cut the lever" trick a couple of times now, and if the worst becomes the worst I'll do it again, but I'd like to find a more elegant solution, not that the current setup won't work fine, I just think the original Tarozzi lever is a less than perfect design. I don't really like the idea of hanging the linkages below the lever, but that's just a personal preference, I know it'd work fine. Cheers, Terry.

Change the oil, oil filter and brake fluid in both K1's, drained the carbs in one, too cold out there to do the other.  Cliff.

34F this morning, rode to work and took her for a spin on lunch brake.  30 miles in sunny Virginia, life is good.

Beautiful sunny warm day in Melbourne today.

Got up, pulled on the gear and went out to start the bike and ride to work.

Ten minutes later still at home - got off the bike, swore at it, cursed the day I ever thought owning a CB750 would be fun(?) and walked to the tram stop to get to work, left the bike sitting at home, dripping petrol all over the concrete.

(Man I need to get a bike with carbs that WORK!!!)

Swapped in coils I bought from member Radam.  Popped the center stand in.  Lifted the bike.  Removed the old chain. Pulled the rear wheel.  Pulled the sprocket carrier to put on the 17" 750 rear wheel.  Swapped in nicer shocks - all on the 750.  Called it a day.

today i picked up my DID aluminum front rim from the powder-coat dude.  dropped it off 5 weeks ago (long story) and it looks f'ing great.  upsized spitfire from jake wilson arrived the day before ($70 shipped).  hub and spokes were polished weeks ago, looks like i'm ready for another wheel lacing.

tonight was mainly finishing up wiring from the fuse panel to the headlight.  had prevously stripped the sheathing, repaired some fried wiring, repaired PO duct tape splices, and replaced the fuse panel.  tonight i installed some new spiral sheathing, neatened up the wiring everywhere and snugged every connection in the bucket. 

then i polished and installed my new fork ears (thanks happysmiley!) and polished/wired up the blinks.  every connection has been cleaned, snugged up and checked.  all is well.  phew!

Hey Terry.  The engine with cam damage was a deal I picked up off a guy a couple years ago. He had taken the valve cover/cam out to expose that problem. He had already picked up another engine but was broke and lost interest so I took everything he had for $200.00,rolling chassis,engines etc.
  The 'chopper' came to me with this body set which I still have. The Boobie tank was from a fellow who had a big bore engine and a bunch of other old racing bits I bought out.Have had it now for around 4 years and the only thing I have done is clean the carbs when I got it and a few oil changes.Have never even pulled the plugs yet. Has Dyna coils,ignition and who knows what else. Has Pods with know issues at all,runs very strong through the whole rev range,that is till I get caught in a real rain gusher like I did when Godzilla was in town.Had to make an 'airbox' out of some free car seller mags from a gas station to get her home.   

That's nice "period art" Eric, and I love that "chopper", I want to find one like that and just keep it in a corner of my garage for when the mood takes me. I had a cam like that back in 1981 on my first K1, the bearing surface looked like a cotton reel!

G'Day Mate, yep, that's my old K1, "Battle Scarred Galactica". The air filter system comes from one of the members here, Brian. (Tintop) It's the "Anti Pod" system that he designed, combining the benefits of velocity stacks combined with a freer flowing oiled foam filter.

The engine in my bike is "worked" with high comp 836cc pistons, Mike Rieck stage 3 head (bigger valves, ports opened up and flowed, etc) and Megacycle 125/75 race cam. I was having trouble tuning my 29mm CR race carbs so I re-installed a set of OEM Keihin carbs and played around with the stock airbox with OEM filter, a K&N filter, and pods. Although with the stock airbox with K&N filter the engine ran beter, I still wasn't totally happy with it so I installed Brian's filter setup with some 130 main jets and it runs real well now. I'm not sure if it's altered my torque curve etc, but the throttle response immediately felt crisper, with smoother, faster accelleration than it had before with the OEM airbox or pods.

I've just bought a set of 31mm CR's and several sets of needles and main jets to install on this engine as the stock carbs obviously don't flow as well as the CR's on a highly modified engine, particularly at higher RPM's when the 125/75 cam is coming into it's own, but for a stock or mildly tuned engine where CR's aren't necessary this setup is superb. Don't take that to mean that the "Anti-pod" setup wouldn't work well on CR's either, it's just that Brian hasn't developed a filter setup for CR's yet. If he ever does, I'll be ordering a kit right away. Cheers, Terry.

Thanks mate, I like it, I'd never "customize" a complete original bike, but I built this bike entirely from parts that I've bought on EBay or at swap meets starting with a bare frame, and I've just kept adding trick 70's era parts to it as I find them.

I'm looking forward to getting it out on the road for a ride this weekend, hopefully I'll snap some pics of it on the road after I've made some changes with the handlebars and front end. Cheers, Terry.

Another bbbbbbbbbrisky ride to work this morning.

28f and had to watch for ice from the stupid micky d's on the corner.

They're freakin sprinklers were on and it was spraying into the intersection.

Made it ok though. Looking forward to riding home this evening at 66 degrees......good riding weather.

Rode my bike for the first time in 2 years yesterday!!

We are moving soon so I had to:
A - Remove broken exhaust stud.
B - Install MAC 4-1 exhaust
C - Make sure it still ran!
D - Ride it a whopping 4 blocks to my new garage.

All went according to plan except a few unplanned trips to the hardware store for 6mm nuts, and...the battery was stone dead and wouldn't take a charge.  I had to put my little charger on "55amp engine start" and it still wouldn't crank over.  Had to use the kick starter, started on the 4th kick!

Popped it the rest of the way apart for powder coat.

Pulled the pipes off and wrapped them in 2" Titanium grey exhaust wrap, I am happy with the end result,  looks cool and the stainless Lossa muffler is almost the same colour as the wrap.





And yes - having personally inspected Terry's project bike this morning I can concur - it is a very sweet build with loads of trick stuff on it and more to come.
