Well we learned a few things last night

1......samauto does not like the heat,
2...... it was 105/108 at he track last night and that just sucks
3.......we where at least a second off of our average times.............
4.......everyone was complaining about the heat so everyone was off on there times
5......if anyone ever gets an idea to go testing when its this hot and they call me I just wont answer the phone
6...... Did I say it was HOT.................
6.5......the only good thing about last night was that the converter held up but because of the heat we could not get
good throttle response off the line too see if the stall was going to hold at 3500, so it was just too damn hot
6 3/4....did I say it was just too dam hot........oh yeah I did..........
7......Have a great day..................

SAM IS THE MAN :   I had a SUPER STREET 10.90  kawasaki  ZIR that I made over 400 passes on in a few years but could never run 154 MPH in 1320'. Has to be the fastest  MPH  for any S/ST bike in drag racing = great job on those numbers SAM.....................

Sam here. Commiserations on the weather guys, we had just the opposite.
Saturday started very cold and windy hence wearing my jacket over my leathers and now for the truth. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
My first pass on the Harley was just a cautious pass to check the bike out, I eased it off the line with no problems.
After going in to third, it popped out and lost me quit a bit of time and returned one of the slowest runs I have done in a long time, 14.535 at 159kph.
OK, it was just a soft pass to asses the bike which must have weighed in at over 600lbs  but with plenty of punch and then the rain came. :( the sad thing was, it never let up all day so I was going into Sundays eliminations without a clue what to dial in. >:( >:( >:(  with nothing to do, the beer started flowing along with the 10.97 157mph post.  ;D ;D ;D ;D
Sunday turned out bone dry with temps reaching 25c and with a rather warm cross wind. I took the plunge and dialed 12 dead thinking it might just run a low 12 if I gave it a bit more stick off the line and made sure of the gear changes.
I was up against the top runner with multiple championships to his credit but remembered the words of Jon Weeks, treat it like any other time trial. I ran a 12.314 at 188.03kph (116.836mph) to his winning run of 11.408 on a 11.10 dial.
.054 added from the light meant I lost by 6 hundredths of a second  :'( :'( :'(  but hey ho, I enjoyed myself, I was in good company and all time PBs in both ET and terminal speed can't be that bad. ;)
Juha made short work of the opposition with a series of 9s runs but lost out in the final to a red light, perhaps it was justice for winding you all up with the 157mph post. ;D ;D ;D ;D
And to finish, thanks for the kind comments on that bogus run, you are true gentlemen and good friends. ;)

Sam. :)

Great job to all who went to play this weekend. Nice times there Sammy. Congrats to Juha for making it to the finals. Always nice to  look up and realize you are only one of two left standing after a hard day of racing. You'll be on the winning side of the tree next time.

I had a bit of success myself this weekend at the MIROCK race in Rockingham this weekend although it did not net a single winning round. Finally got on the right track with the bike i built at the beginning of the season. I actually made it down the track from end to end twice this weekend-lol. Not going to high jack the teams thread but i might post a few time slips later. Still got a freaking electrical gremlin from the trigger plate but i'll sort that out in the upcoming week.

Ummm, to quote my friend Big Jim, " did i mention that it was HOT" ? 105 degrees with a heat index of 109 degrees with 160 degree track temps.

Tooooooo  HOT:  I would hope that the temp drops in OHIO this weekend as me and the "TURTLE"  [ 400cc HONDAMATIC ] return to NTR  NIGHT OF THUNDER under the lights to try for a repeat of last years 2011 WIN after 13 hours in leathers = had to go 6 rounds to final.  Was hoping to run HONDAMATIC  750A but with the record breaking temps [ 104 ]  in Ohio the pass month, not ready yet !!!!!!!   BUSAMATIC sits ready to go but for a win purse under $200 it's not worth the chance for a breakage [ spinning on a slick track 120-140 DEGREES ]  on this STROKER motor..................
SAM's -MATIC should be in the Super/Street ET soon with line lock and new Stall and that would be good for him to get some good numbers [ 11's ]  for this bike he has put time, travel and money into for the pass year.

DAMM BILL:  That 148 mph on that 750cc [ 836cc ? ] is a BIGGGG NUMBER, right up there with a built 1397cc BUSA or ZX-12-14R motor in the 1320'.  Was that on your bike or the AUTOMATIC of SAM'S ?????   Look out BUSA-GSXR -ZX10-12-14'S- BMW  Bills got a KILLER HONDA  loaded for a real race at the CUP.

No Pop,

Those were times that Bill posted from time slips i emailed to him of the old KZ 1000 i built to run in the Crazy 8's class in the MIROCK series. I promised the guys i would post them but they wouldn't  come up for me. Bill elected to just list the times versus a picture of the actual time slip- not sure why he was not successful. That 148mph was not a clean pass and it was on nitrous. The 60' was a 1.40 on motor- i delayed the nitrous to come on about 2.5 seconds into the run. Still got some bugs to work out to run the index but i'm on track.

148MPH:  I was thinking that would be a WORLD RECORD in 1320' for any CB750  auto or clutch bike.  But that MPH is very high for a KZ1000 as I live in OHIO where many " BRUCE BUILT MOTOR " runs 142mph every weekend at the track I go to on the weekend events.  BRUCE MOTORS run from 1197-1428cc in tube chassis frames and have won many CHAMPIONSHIPS OVER THE PASS 20 YEARS= MANY !!!!!!   Ask anyone on DRAGBIKE.COM what it means when you see a sticker on a KZ that says " GOT BRUCE " or " POWER BY SAUER "  = Fear of HIS years of building killer KZ MOTORS will make you think, this is not going to be a easy race to win.

I'm very familiar with Bruce and the bike he builds. I've been trailer a few time by them back in the  Pro Star days before
AMA-lol.

That 148mph pass was on nitrous Pops- not all motor. I delayed the nitrous on that pass up to 2.5 seconds in the run and then started progressively ramping it in as i pulled timing out. Its a 1325cc on a no bar stock cradle chassis set up with a street tire and a GSXR extended mono shock swingarm.

Don't want to hijack the thread with the KZ stuff but the guys knew i was building the bike and never got a decent pass from it. I just wanted them to see i was on track now.  Only trying to get it dialed in so i can move back to working on my SOHC F model. I want it ready in time for the last Cup race so we can have at least three CB750 in competition. Hopefully with Jims turbo it'll be four.
