Ive seen the bearing retainer tool posts on here, many good homemade tools that get the job done. i dont have access to welder etc.. and i cut a small piece of steel and tried that, but no luck on getting the retainer off the front hub. is there even an actual tool that can be purchased for this? ive found plenty o bearing retainer tools, but nothing that matches my cb. maybe ill have to try and make another tool, maybe with bolts and a plate of steel or something. is the rear bearing retainer the same size as the front wheel one? that way i can at least use the tool twice
i drilled them out. a 74 cb550. i made a tool that turned it about a half inch or so, but nothing after that. my tool failed before the ring came out. ended up breaking the tool before the ring gave. gotta learn the hard way sometimes.
