NGK plug type

My 76 CB 750 calls for a NGK D8ESL plug. My local Honda dealer does not stock it, but said a DR8ESL plug would work just fine. Saying the only difference is the latter is a resistor plug. Is this correct-just wanted to be sure be I install them. thanks

Sounds right but if you switch from a regular to a resistor plug, you will need to change your wires OR caps to resistor type. Something (1 thing) has to have resistance. I would go with the resistor wires.  :)

Resistor wires would be a nightmare with the stock coils, they are not designed to allow wire replacement and come with metal core wire. Just get new plug caps with 1K resistance, or zero resistance if you can find them. Most motorcycle accessory dealers have NGK caps in their catalog, you need two straight ones and two 120 degree ones.

Ah, ours attach to the coils. Yeah, lots easier to change the caps if yours are hardwired in.
