« on: December 01, 2009, 10:00:43 AM »
I have found out that RAASK makes rear sets for CB550's and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them.

Is the quality good?

thanks,

No, they are cheap. Porous metal and usually a too far rearward location.
The kit uses a 'boomerang' shaped mounting plates.
I did use the pegs and levers, with custom linkage and welded on mounting bosses.
Their finish does have an interesting 'patina' though.

You might try fastfromthepast.com for some rearsets that may fit or be adaptable...

Just echoing what the others said already. I hated my RAASK rearsets. Cheap made and they set too far up/back for my old knees. I have a set of the Tarozzi Paolo rearsets that are available from fastfromthepast.com. LOVE THEM! Very nice quality and they were easy to install. fastfromthepast does offer 2 types for a CB500 application ... differences are drum or disc rear brake. Would those fit your 550?

Well, the problem is that my bike is a LATE '76...meaning it's a 1977 K3.  So, I have to find something that works.  I could fab on something else, but trying to find a bolt on set.
